I only know about two types of snow... white and yellow. Are there more?
Going off the ice cracking sounds, you have the sound of ice breaking,
like somebody or something falling through. Maybe wind and ambience
sounds...

lol yup. There are several sounds for snow! Walking through slushy,
half melted snow; walking through snow with a thin crust of ice on it;
fresh powder snow.. deep, soft and hard to walk through; hard, frozen
snow from deep winter.. very crunchy.
I love the sounds of spring in the mountains! The ice breaking on the
lakes can sound like gunshots! On the rivers you hear it grind and
crack, so loud it can scare you. You can hear the icicles on the eaves
dripping and even outside, amidst the first songs of the birds you can
hear the soft tinkling drip of ice and snow melting off the trees.
Creeks and rivers sound totally different when there is just a narrow
margin of open water with a rim of ice along the edges. A frozen
waterfall is truly an image to treasure for life. And nothing..
nothing! beats taking a canoe out on a lake when there's just enough
open water around the edges to navigate. So peaceful and quiet you can
feel the world sleeping beneath the snow.
hehe.. yeah.. I do love that.

Wow! Your writing is awesome Galrina
I?m amazed...
I think it could be very nice to get some nice ambient and
environmental sound, it?ll take up a lot of space, but I think it has
the potential to further Skyrims identity and define the landscape and
setting.
I really hope Minsu and I can get some nice material for this!! Sounds
of water dripping off the walls and echoing slightly through a dungeon
also come to mind.... a lot of things come to mind...
I hope to be able to post some nice sounds soon!!
Any and all suggestions and contributions are welcome!!

Wow Galrina, I want to see that! Sulan's right, you make it sound
awesome, I can only imagine actually seeing it. I live in Oklahoma, so
I don't get to see much snow. Ever. We do get a lot of open skies
though. Speaking of which, there hasn't been any rain (except two
sprinkles) for about six months. We have a High Fire danger right now.
It's crazy.
Make sure you get branches breaking and snapping and other things like brushing up against a pine tree..

Thanks guys!
hehe.. We've been under flood watches twice so far this month.. only
another 10 weeks of storm season to go here. I do feel for ya though
Noremorse. A few years back when I was still in Tennessee we went from
March to the end of October with no rain whatsoever. It took two years
before the dogwoods and redbuds even bloomed again. The Tennessee river
was so low you could walk the banks and pick up shards of the indian
pottery from the village that used to be there before the river changed
its course (a few hundred years ago).
