I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but...

A grand rumor has been spreading throughout the city. Just recently, the local furs man,Thonilin and his son went out into the woods to hunt. Later that day, Thonilin came back, but his son did not. Everyone could tell something was wrong. His clothes were torn, and his horse was missing a foot. For days, Thonilin did not talk to anyone, for he was depressed. Finally, he came out of his depression to claim that wolves attacked him, and stole his child. The village needs you to help. it may be the only was to save Thonilin from his depression. But something does not seem right...
Thonilin came back with only his hourse, and a blood covered sword, and yet he claims to not have had time to kill any anilams, or defend himself from the wolves. But why would he have a blood stained sword?
Maybe thonilin's claims are not as accurate as everyone believes. Only his son can solve the mystery, but he is no where to be found.

Spoiler:
Basically, you find his son, and find out that Thonilin tried to kill him. Some talk about being the God's messenger. Obviously, he is nuts. Luckily, the wolves were their to save him. Thonilin managed to get one swipe at the wolves before they escaped with the boy. When you return to the city, you talk to Thonilin and he takes the boy. Then he talks about being grateful, and you say you know the truth. He attacks you. You can a) kill him yourself, b) Get a guard.

Reward: 500 gold, Thonilin's Key, the friendship of the boy who will give you a special discount at hhis Father's, now his store in the market.

Like it? I have an idea for the squel, but I dont know if I will post it.

It's good but sounds a bit of hack and slash type of quest.

Hi there Toby and welcome to the forums! Its an interesting mystery type quest, and I like the whole part about the wolves. You'll need to expand on the whole thing about the wolves though, why did they save him? Does he have some kind of special affinity with wolves?

I was actually going to make a sequel about that. But I suppose I could work it into the quest.

A sequel is fine too.

Intro

Local person: "Have you heard? Ever seince that thonilin boy came back, wolves have been getting closer and closer to the city. It is starting to freak some people out. But the guards can handle it? Right? Right? Perhaps you should go talk to the boy. You were the one to bring him back after all"

Boy: "Hello! What news do you bring me?

-Wolves have been prowling around the city lately-

Boy: oh... Umm.. Can you do me a favour? Can you go find out why they love me so much? When they took me in, it was like being a god. it was like I was one of them, although I could not communicate.

-Ok, sure-

Part 1: Finding the den

Basically, you ask around town, and talk to some adventurers. They tell you about three major wolf dens. You go to the first 2 dens, and find everything is filled in. Nothing is left. When you reach the final den, you find a huge amount of wolves. But for some reason, they do not attack you. It is as if they know why you are here.

Part 2: The picture

You go along the cave, and enter into a chanber. On a wall, you see a picture of a boy risen above all else. You look around. Finally, you find a basket with a stone in it. the sotone has a smaller version of the picture. You take it back to the city and show the boy. he tells you to talk to an archeologist. You do. The man says that the wolves must believe that this boy is their god.

Part 3: Finding the god

You go back to the den, and a wolve talks to you.

"Woof! Woof!" He barks. It is as if he wants tyou to take him somewhere. To the boy. You do. When he gets there, a small cut scene takes place. The wolf plays with the boy, and then the boy says "I.. I think I know why this wolf is here. He is a ... messenger. I thinik.. I think I belong with the wolves."

You try to convince him to not go, but he has made up his mind. The wolf seems to love him, and the boy loves the wolf. They leave. you are in an empty house for 1 moment, and then the boy returns with the wolf. "Oh, I forgot! Here, this is your reward. Thank you."

Reward: 500 gold. Full acsess to the wolves Den. Acsess to Thonilin's basement.

The store that they own has new management! A family friend, Mannohk takes the boy's place. He gives you a slightly larger discount. Every night, he goes to see the boy after his shop has closed.

P.S- the boys name is Jonlin

Hmm, it seems you're making the wolves a bit to smart, but its still interesting. Why not instead of gold rewards for completing the two quests you just get to own the store at the end.

Well for owning the store I was thinking you can use the house as your own and the guy that runs the store will pay you x gold every week.

You'll probably have to just use sound and an appropriate animation. That should do the trick. If you're wondering about talking creatures, you may want to check out that article on the wiki. It is under the questions category.
