Sound Track Only Plays in Skyrim |

I noticed Razorwing had said some thing about a "Get World Space"
script command, or something of that nature, and that it could be used
to make specific music play in specific world spaces. Some of our
soundtrack might not necessarily sound right in some areas, especially
other province mods. Why not use the "Get World Space" command to make
our music only play in Skyrim. That way it will sound more unique, and
you'll be able to look forward to a break from the "same old" while
playing our mod. |

I think that would be very sweet! Then we?d be able to compose more
specific music to specific occations/places, instead of doing a bunch
of compromised music that is to fit everywhere.
I for one would very much like to compose under those regulations. I
just have one question, will the player still be able to change music?
No matter how good the music is it?ll get repetetive after a while,
maybe then the music script can be desabled via the console and the
game playes the music from the normal folders where the player puts his
desired music?
In any case, I think we should decide which way to go quite soon since
it might alter the direction we go with our compositions...

A) Make a unique piece that only plays in one region, and that is the only piece that plays in the region.
B) Make a folder titled Skyrim Music, it functions just like
exploration music for Cyrodiil, but we script the Skyrim worldspace to
reference that folder rather than the default explore folder. |
I think your idea that the script picks from different folders is best.
Then we?d have the flexability that the player can choose his music,
while not loosing the option of having dedicated pieces for certain
places/occations - some of those folders, the
"final-boss-of-uber-demonization-and-evilness" for instance, may only
contain one track..
I really like the idea of making special music for special occasions,
we?d be able to achieve really cool moments of awesomness and heroism
for the player.

That final boss comment brings back a funny memory, back in Morrowind I
had a Breton Spellsword named Jonas, I took the normal music out of the
battle folder and replaced it with the Halo 2 themesong, then when I
went to fight Dagoth Ur I put a punk rock song called "My Name is
Jonas" in the battle folder, I laughed as I smacked the crud out of
Dagoth Ur to a song about my character. |
