Discussion of Exterior Mod Resources

This thread is a discussion for the use of exterior mod resources in SKyrim for Oblivion. If you see a mod that adds a model/texture that you believe would be usefull to us, create a post in this thread about it with the link to the mod. We will then decide whether or not to use it, and contact the creator for permission if we do.

Here are my contributions:

Some great mods there, X23. The silvery armour was really well made, for one. (Not sure about the Conan Movie swords though...)

I found this cool looking armor and weapons...the weapons have a unique fire effect and if used I'd say make these babies a rare find. You'll see why lol.

I have talked to Ulath, the creator of the Noble Plate Armor and Nord Heroe's Armor, and he has given us permission to use his work, and also he would like to combine the castle here http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index...howtopic=454553 with our teaser(assuming Greybeard doesn't mind) and work with our team creating new armors and content.

The castle is to awesome to not include, it would be stupid on our part to not include it in the teaser, something like that people remember, we want people to remember us

! Come up with some creative lore workaround that allows us to have our way. The castle is supposed to house magical artifacts, so it might be magical itself right? So why not say its like Brigadoom or something where it only appears for a short time every hundred years, and that's why there aren't extensive lore references.

Besides, the average gamer isn't going to realize whether or not some castle existed in lore, most gamers can't name 5 cities in Skyrim. Besides, lore doesn't mention its existence, but it never says it doesn't exist. Our team's position is that if lore does not state that something does not exist, and a logical explanation for its existence can be created, then we run with it. We aren't TR. So the castle is in unless someone can come up with a really good reason it shouldn't.

you could make it a secret location also...something uncharted somewhere. Imagine trotting along and coming across that thing. You'd be "Holy! Wow!" and suddenly whereever you were going is lost and the newly found castle is your destination...

hey, I know we aren't TR and I know we don't have to follow lore to the line, but I don't want us to include something on that scale that alters Cyrodiil, yes it would be cool but no.

Look at it this way, there is a really hot hooker beside you who isn't going to charge you for a good time you really want to sleep with her, only problem is she has aids and refuses to let you where a condom.

We don't have to include the Castle, we can just use the models.

but our hooker doesn't have aids... The only reason it might not be included is if it is sitting right on top of Haerter Gap or something like that.

Yes, but they seem unfinished, I think new lightscources like staves are fine, but the offhand steel etc. are imersion breaking in some ways, I CAN'T ATTACK WITH MY SWORD.

You have a bit of a point, but for some enemies in our mod, Berserkers in particular, dual-wielding is kind of a must. I suppose we could have a poll about it.

Not a bad idea, so in their weapon leveled lists we could make it spawn so there are 2 normal weapons, but they only use one. Still, some people like offhand weapons, if you think it breaks immersion you could always just not pick it up...

/yes, but I thik large scale mods like these should be as good as official expansion packs, and I think that it feels very unofficial and half doen, perhaps there is another solution we are not seeing.

On another topic I'm going to need a PR-Man who will get in touch with the creators of the mods in these threads once we get approved lists. They'll need to be polite, well spoken, and be able to answer any questions that they might get about our project. I would do it myself, but I have a bunch of other stuff to worry about, and my pm box on the official forums doesn't work.

Kalikut can be contacted by TESF as well, the mod was released on there, but I couldn't find the thread so I just linked to the site. We should probably try comming up with a solution to getting mods right off TESsource, generally speaking they have TESF accounts so you should at least try contacting them thatway.

I don't think a castle anywhere close to that size will fit on the mountainside. I had problems pulling the hillsides to get the few small buildings I have to fit. If we're doubling the land area in Skyrim, there should be a place for it, but you'll need flatlands or at least low rolling hills to accommodate it.
