Very nice work Corwyn! and welcome to Skyrim for Oblivion
Its perfectly ok to post Norse themed concept art here, this is the
place for it! I really like the second one, has a very peacefull
pristine feel to it. |

Sweet banner! I've actually been meaning to get a new banner for the
forums, could you do a few more experimental banners, make a few of
them not snowy maybe? I might wait till we have more landmass done, and
then catch some beautiful sunrise over our landscape, but I want to see
what you can come up with too. |

sure, I'll see about doing some other random images, though can you be
more specific? sounds like you have something in mind maybe? and yes,
waiting for an actual screenshot may be worth it

about a peacefull non-snowy forest with a stave church in it. |

Thank you for the excellent banner Corwyn, I've had it set up as the
new forum banner, and it is a massive improvement over the old one. |

Thanks for the comments
The black keep is already fairly detailed and could be worked into
something worthy of a desktop image probably. the original is a4 at 300
dpi, so plenty of pixels =p
The banner could actually do with a bit of a sharpen filter, it looks a
tad blurry to me, but thanks for using it! it does look good up there
=D

The city I at some point hope to build. Anyone have any ideas on the
lore as to which city or maybe hold, might look something like that?

I think it would be good for the city next to the throat of the world (the proper name escapes me at the moment).

Greatwork there Corwyn! It would probably be Whiterun, but it could be a lot of cities in Skyrim.

Very nice Corwyn, probably the Windhelm area near the Morrowind border,
as the other coastal areas are probably all frozen. |

That immersed me more into the world of Skyrim then anything I have yet seen. Great job.

Thanks Bard, I have already modeled a similar gnarled tree and have worked in speedtree to create some nice pines.
Sieg, I dont know, but I thought according to lore the coast wouldn't
actually be frozen. The reach is fairly high up but from what I heard
isn't that bad? Its pretty much accepted that the reason Skyrim is so
bitterly cold is not because of its latitude but because of its height.
Morrowind etc are almost on the same latitude and are far from frozen
aren't they? So based on the surrounding area, the layout of skyrim etc
I would have thought skyrim would have been cold all over, but the
coast, compared to the mountains, would be far more temperate. Correct
me if I am wrong here? Remember also that Nirn doesn't seem to follow
the theme of having the north and south pole frozen (just look at black
marsh and Valenwood)
(I personally wonder if there is much more to nirn, but beth haven't
expanded yet, and what we know isn't even the entire of nirn)
Anyway as I said, correct me if I am wrong, I am no lore buff heh

There are four more continents that we know of, but Nirn as a planet
has not been so thoroughly thought trough in my opinion (or we just
know very little). The continents are a bit small for a planet that
would be more or less the size of Earth, so either most of the planet
is covered by water, or there are a big number of small continents
(many not included in lore). This is just a theory and since it is for
a fictional place there isn't much to base it on and can easily be a
load of non-sense.

Well I really liked your climate map, seems very good. The only thing I
would have probably changed is to have a little less snow and ice so
soon along the coast. Up the top there is definately in need of it
though (like you have) I never played Bloodmoon, but where were all the
horkers and ice in that game situated?

The northern Coast of Solstheim was totally frozen, horkers could be found near every body of water, they were over-used. Look here.

Soldtheim was probably a breeding ground for them, sort of like they
live on the Skyrim coast them when the time comes they go to Solstheim
o mate and rear offspring then when their pups are ready they swim back
to Skyim. Also on the Skyrim coast they would likely live in colonies
and not everywhere as the Skyrim nords don't really have a spirtual
connection with them as much as the Skall and would hunt them openly
for profit, sort of like RW sealers back in the day with those big
clubs.
