Faction, Hircine's Hounds |

Faction, Hircine's Hounds |
|
The Full moon rises, and Hircine’s Hounds hunt once more.
(Prelude)
Hircine’s power has dwindled since the events of Bloodmoon, while he
has been rebuilding his shattered form; the ice vampires of Skyrim
grow, like vermin. Their ghostly presence has expanded far from their
ancient lakes. They now threaten Hircine’s return to power, one clan in
particular has even made attacks on groups of his hounds.
(To begin the quest line you must become a werewolf)
You experience a dream from Hircine (journal Entry) he has told you
that he acknowledges your presence, and that he has need of your
assistance. A rouge pack of hounds have been seen near *name* cave, he
assumes they have made a den there and he needs you to hunt them down.
Once you have done this the next time you sleep you get another dream
telling you that there is a den open to you at *name* cave.
You now get quests through the alpha male of this Pack of Hircine’s
Hounds. He tells you that Hircine wants you to eliminate the Vampire
*name*. He has moved further away from his territory of the *name* lake
then Hircine allows, and must be Destroyed. When you return the alpha
male gives you a magical Item, he says that he has no use for it as he
has completely embraced the wolf, so he gives it to you.
The next quest the alpha male gives you, is about a farmer who has been
killing off wolf brothers of this den near here, and he needs you to
“handle” the situation for him. When you return you find the den in
blue flames, dead Werewolves are everywhere. You are approached by the
Alpha male, who is on fire and about to die, his last words are *name*
clan, then he dies.
The next time you sleep you get another dream from Hircine, saying that
you must lead his Hounds from *name* den (different den to the one
destroyed) to lake *name* where the filth grows. You go to the den talk
to the Alpha male there, he says that the hounds are ready for battle,
you instantly travel to lake *name* where on it’s surface the
werewolves await, suddenly vampires appear all over the lake, and the
battle begins. The alpha male tells you that the ruler of this lake as
not appeared on the battlefield, and believes that he is hidden under
the surface of the lake, he tells you that his hounds will stay above
ground while you go down there and eliminate him.
Suddenly the frozen lake begins to shake and a crack appears in the
middle of it, go over to the crack and swim down to the bottom, where
there is a cave.
Go through the cave battling what seems an army of vampires, until you
come to the very end where you meet, *name* vampire the ruler of this
clan. Big battle scene.
Some goodies on his corpse. Everything blacks out and you arrive back
in *name* den where the alpha male talks to you, he says that the
battle over whelmed you and blacked out, he says that he found you in
the chamber of the vampire and he brought you back here.
The next time you rest you get a dream from hircine saying you are now
the alpha male of *name* den (the one that was previously destroyed) he
says that it has been restored and he has rounded up some hounds for
it. He also says there is a prise awaiting you there.
When you arrive there you are greeted by X werewolf who says he has
awaited your return and that hircine has told him to give this to you
(Strong Magical Item).

RE: Hircine's Hounds - Werewolf faction |

I like it except for the part about the Bloodmoon, as I don't think it
rises except every thousand years or somethnig, probably just open with
the "The full moon rises, and Hircine's Hounds hunt once more." |

Thanks
also why don't you post your lore findings on the werewolves
I think people would find it interesting, or at least the list of new stuff added in Bloodmoon.

I don't think that is relevant to this thread Siegfried,

Those quests sound good. Maybe if there is a vampire faction some quests can tie in with that.

The Vampire Faction's questline will not tie into the werewolve MQ
because of combatibility Issues. It however might at one point involve
werewolves, but this is all being discussed in the Core Forum.

Does Hircine ONLY relate to werewolves, or do other were- creatures follow him? I think a werebear would be nice...

Sounds great. I've been hoping someone would do werewolves in Oblivion.
They were awesome to begin with in Bloodmoon and can only benefit from
the improved physics. So yes, awesome

About the dream sequences, why restrict yourself to message dialogs.
Why not buld a dream worldspace which the player is teleported to at
the apropriate times? |

Yep, we could do that. This hasn't really been discussed in great detail, so who knows how it will look in the end.

If anything I would prefer to have movie sequences like in BM, also
going to a world space would just be stupid as each player would have a
differnt view of the way their own mind looked and the only thing you
would do there would be to hear Hircines voice.

It's the same with a movie sequences unless you can skip it.

Still I think the movie is the way to go as the same technique for the Hircine dreams was used in BM.

It doesn't matter what technique was used in BM, we need to use what's
best for us. In BM the cinematics weren't made from in-game renders
anyway, they were specially designed outside the parameters of the
game.

Well we will make them outside of the game then.

How do you suggest we do that? We would need to make a range of small
animated movies of sorts, and I'm not familiar with anyone that can do
that.

Do we have the capability though? We can easily make a sequence very
much like the end sequence of the OB MQ. We can disable the player's
controls, he will be able to look around but not to move until the end
of the sequence. We can put him in a dream-like dark forest realm (or
wherever Hircine hangs out), and place him with a bunch of other
"hounds" around a representation of Hircine (a magical fire or any kind
of fancy localized effect) where he would hear Hircine's voice. It
would be like a collective dream that all the werewolves have when
Hircine gives his orders.

No the dreams are only given to the PC and are specific to him. We'll
keep the movie as it allows us a lot more freedom and will take players
back to the Days of BM.

We didn't like the model, but that is a fine mod. We might use that
model for a werewolf-vampire hybrid, but as our main werewolf model we
will use the one made by the "Lore Creatures Expansion" team. It will
probably be made as creature with new animations.

Oh very interesting. I loved the Werewolves in Morrowind. I remember
that perspective it gave. I mean how the screen looked weird and all.
