I was planning on claiming the Oak and Thorn quest line once it came
up, but I have the same problem as Sieg with RL and all, so I'm not
sure if I will have the time.

Well I recently posted a quest idea for a guild (but after rellizing
this) and it's like the Guild of the Silver Raven. So maybe I'll claim
that when I can. |

I'd like to give an idea of something that should happen in the Thieves
Guild questline(I could possibly claim the Thieves Guild, though I
really can't script):
When you challenge the big bad boss, he says that you shouldn't screw
with him and you zoom out of the talk-mode. At that point, your
controls stop working and the camera is in 3th person circling around
you. Five archers come out of the shadow and shoot you everywhere (nice
graphics since the arrows stick in). Then, when you're almost dead, the
badguy says "Enough!". And from that moment on everything goes
pitch-black. You wake up in a labourcamp with somebody standing over
you, saying that you screwed with the boss and lost. All your equipment
has been taken(can be regained later on) and all of your skills and
primary skills are lowered atleast by 60 (magically, under the name of
"Badly Wounded") (so without your magicka you aren't able to do spells,
and you don't have a longsword). You are summoned by the campleader and
he tells you, that you have to do challenges, untill you are dead. This
includes puzzles, mazes and arena fighting against fellow camp-mates.
In between these exercises you can talk to the camp-mates (lot's of
them have unique dialog), and slowly you regain your strenght(after
every challenge), then, after you've killed a camp-mate who was known
to you, you meet a monk(also prisoner there). He believes you can free
everyone there and he heals you, and gives you a weapon(s). Then, next
time you get summoned you kill the arrogant camp-master and possibly
free the camp, and/or get out of there.....
Just an idea which would be incredibly fun, it's just a moment out of the usual "I can best everyone!" idea of TES...

It's more of a FG quest, but it does have a lot of creativity in it

I have a pretty good idea for a faction, not a particularly large one.
It is like a hunters guild but it goes a little deeper than that. For
starters the guild HQ is 3/4 fur tents, which moves round skyrim at
different times of the year, to a total of about 4 locations, the
travelling won't need to be done in realtime or anything just one day
they are in one place, the next they can't be found (as part of the
journey), the next day they are in the next location.
They move around purely to hunt different creatures when they are most
fruitfu in that location eg deers in spring time, in a location where
there is plenty of theml, the hides and such which they hunt for is
collected and sold before they move on. I think the hides from new
creatures should be much more valuable to make this worthwhile, but
basically, it consists of 4 unique (or at least obscurely retextured
animals/beasts)(one for each location), each one can only be hunted at
the right time of the year which will be the same time as the tents are
in that area, to get information about the different creatures, you
must first hunt enough of the local creatures and sell the hides to the
main huntsman (for less that what you would get at the shop), before
one of the members approaches you or trusts you enough to talk about
the next bit.
This should be a bit different for each region just to keep it interesting. Here are some ideas.
Region One: The guy approaches you and says that because you are such a
good huntsmen he would like for you to join him on the hunt of a pretty
beasty beast he has been tracking for the last couple of years, he
tells you he figured out last year where the creature goes but it was
too late to do anythign about it, he offers to split it down the
middle, whatever you get.
After various scripted trackings and followings of trails and
conversations you find the beast (need ideas for what these are) and
kill it.
Region two: The guy you sell the hides to (because you make him loads
of profit and he trusts you), shows you a letter from a relative
detailing his lucky escape from a beast but he just jokes about him
always over exaggerating. using the information from the letter you
track it.
Region three: after selling so many hides (just to force the player to
stick around with the camp a bit) there is a scripted unique beast
attack on the camp, the whole camp cains it, but because it is pretty
large it takes a while to get, the whole camp gets a share because this
creature is so large
Region four: After selling so many hides, talking to one of the drunk
huntsmen (who is only drunk at night) will reveal the clues of another.
The rewards you get for finding these creatures is a) the achievement
of finding the unique beast b) If you get ALL the hides (you cant sell
them, they are quest items) (then for a price one of the huntmen who is
skilled in fur crafting, will make you a very warm looking piece of
unique pathed looking armour).
Anyone like this idea? There are no ranks, but I think it could be
truly immersive, and the sort of thing I wanted from oblivion for my
hunter sort of character, most of the money made is just spent on booze
and better hunting equipment, these people live for the hunt and all
enjoy each others company so much that they simple want to grow old
doing what they love. |

Would work nice as a Mini-guild, but not as a main one, sort of like
the order of virtuas blood in vanilla OB. Create a seperate thread and
work abit on it. Make sure that the questline is short and not big.

Thanks for the promt feedback. Yea I'm hoping for I to be like a mini
guild, somewhere where they know you, but you can't become the ultimate
leader of it and change history etc. It is just a band of travelling
huntsmen who all love the hunt.
I'll come up with some ideas, for locations, characters, unique
creatures and the quest to find the creatures. I'll post this all when
I've thought it through a bit more. |

Make a new thread for it.
Call it something like "Hunters of the Traveling bear" or something like that.

Thieves Guild
Knights of the Rift
anymore knights?
How about a lord of a hold is an imperial. The Imperials used their
power and influence from the south to give this guy some power and push
in Skyrim. He owns a small army within a small hold he is a baron? Why
not make him renegade he looks to become a great dicator of a certain
area for skyrim. You can join him and do a lot of
raid/assassination/stealing/bribery/delivery/companion work?

Order of Oak and Thorn
Order of The Silver Raven
Order of The White Wolf
...and there was one other order I can't remember now.
The idea about the Imperial Baron-King (lord) doesn't fit somehow.
There could be an Imperial trying to become the ruler of a Hold though, there could be a quest to aid/stop him and all that.
Btw, there is a dictator-ish character already, the Witch Queen of Whiterun (she also rules The Pale).

How would you like to pick a hold or small town with me Pysco and we could discuss this? |
that's not so much of a guild as it is a rather longe misc questl
quesline, similar to the umbaco one (in terms of length not storyline).

Well sorry I didn't mean to make it a faction it is a faction not
joinable but you affect how it unravels. Where is Northshore I've
looked on the map can't find it all I see is North Keep.

It's not a city, it's a Hold. Dawnstar is the capital of Northshore, you could use that as the city for the quest.
Make a new thread if you get any serious inspiration hits.

It could count as one of the rulers quests, like in OB (the count/ countess ones).

Thing is stonehills is a small village with a chieftain, Imperials wouldn't waste their time with a place like that.

The Old Ye Bard thinks I'd be good for the Thieve's Guild Quest Line...
Anyone want to tell me anything I should know about the Cyrodiilic Thieves' Guild before I even try to claim the Skyrim Branch?
(Hasn't finished any of the MQs of faction or the main one)

Even the "old thieves" (mentioned in the description in the OP) of
Skyrim are a bit more aggressive than their Cyrodiil colleagues. The
Cyrodiil Thieves Guild opposes killing and violence, they hold
themselves to be thieves and not murderers. This is a rule that
generally stands for all the branches of the Thieves Guild, but the
Skyrim branch often comes close to crossing the line.
As the Skyrim Thieves Guild has the mafia feel to it they don't mind
bashing a few skulls if someone happens to be lagging behind on their
payments.
Play through the Cyrodiil Thieves Guild quest line to get some more insight on the Thieves Guild.
Thieves Guild quest line claimed by Karzan.
