If you would like to claim a texture please check this thread to see
that it is not claimed yet, then post that you are claiming it. Please
keep us updated regularly on progress, preferably with screenies. Ok,
here's the new list of textures that need doing:
Armor:
--Mountaineer Armor: a heavy armor made from troll hide with
iron plates overtop of it. A set with white hide and one with brown
hide is preferable, please mix and match meshes for this set. The
texture of the iron should look like the Iron armor, or the Legionaire
armor.
--Wolf/Bear Armor: Use the fur armor set and the cuirass of the
savior's hide mesh, and retexture it all to a new color. Feel free to
throw in a few leather meshes if you can make them fit. Also don't just
make the Bear and Wolf armors different color variants, mix it up to
make them more unique. Unique helmet models needed.
Creatures:
--Rieklings: Retexture orcs to a pale riekling blue and give them pointy elf ears.
--Wolves: Just retexture stock Ob wolves so there are more color
variants. (Black, Brown, white, flaming, and frost. Fire and Frost
should have shader effects). [DONE]
Tilesets:
--Snow Cave/Mine: Retexture a cave to give it a snowy look (not ice), it should look like a tunnel in the snow.
--Moss Cave/Mine: Retexture the Cave and Mine Tilesets. The rock
should be a kind of muddy color, and have a muddy look to it. There
should be moss, lichens, and other types of funguses growing off it.
Enough to give a "green" look.
Weapon Sets:
--Barborous Weaponry: Retexture the daedric weapon set to look
like very battered steel or iron. There should be bits of rust on it,
and it should be covered in dents and scratches. It should look like
something that would be used by a Berserker, Bandit, Barbarian, or just
a vagabond Nord who's been using the same weapon for a long time.
Quality wise its meant to be between Steel and Silver.
--Huntsman Weaponry: Based off the Huntsman Weapon set that
shipped with Bloodmoon. Use iron weapon meshes, or if possible through
Nifskope cut the blades off Daedric weapons and paste them onto iron
hilts. These weapons are sharpened rocks tied to wooden hilts, look in
BM for more ideas. Quality wise they deal damage slightly better than
silver, but break more rapidly than iron.
Once created please bring them ingame with the prefix 1SK (no modder's abreviations), leave stats and stuff blank please.

I had a look at them before, looked a bit confusing, but I'm sure it is nothing I can't handle

I am a part of the team over a TES IV:Vvardenfell, so I thought I'd stop by and see if you have any texture jobs for me.
I want to work on the mountaineer armor. If you send me the meshes, I
can get the general Idea, and then I'll create some textures.
I think you guys should come up with some concepts for armor, you made
up, that fits Skyrim. I can draw some of my ideas for sets of armor,
and creatures, and that kinda stuff.
But, anyways, I'd love to join the team, and help out.
Thanks!

A new texturer! Yay
Welcome to Skyrim for Oblivion Tlo!

Actually, back in the old days of the Skyrim project, way back before Oblivion had even come out, I drew a concept for "Troll Hide Armor",
and that is what inspired the mountainteer armor. Why I didn't post the
original concept is beyond me, but oh well, this thread is very very
old. If you would like, I can try piecing a mesh together in
Nifskope (if I can figure out how, I've never done it before)-- overall
that might be better to, maybe we can get Ghogiel to make something a
little more unique/ellaborate for us if he's up for it
BTW I've got a few other concepts here.

Thanks Siegfried
It would be great if you pieced one together
I have 4 concepts for Mountaineer Armor, but My scanner is broken. I
designed 3 different types, Mountaineer armor, light mountaineer armor,
and inlaid mountaineer armor.
I asked Ghogiel, but I havent gotten a response. We'll see.
If you didn't know, I'm working for 3 different projects right now, so concepts may take awhile.
I'm over at Vvardenfell, and Black Marsh too.
So, I'll get back to you when I get my scanner fixed.
BTW I added you and Psychotic to my buddy list, for easy PM-ing

You can go ahead on the boots, gauntlets, and greaves. Retexture Iron
Boots, Blades Gauntlets, and Steel Greaves. I'm working on the making
the Cuirass right now for you, its basically done, but I have a problem
with the arrangement with my Ni-Trishapes that I need to fix before
uploading it. I'm not sure what to do about the helmet, whether we
should just retexture steel or legion, or if we should do a new mesh. |

I'll start retexturing, but it mihgt take awhile. I have Photoshop on
my mac at work. But my photoshop at home hasnt been ordered yet. So,
I'm kinda stuck right now.
Unless someone teaches me how to use Nifskope.
I can do all of those retextures, and on the helm, I would use A custom
Oreyn Bearclaw helm, just the jaw part(make it smaller of course), then
put the back of a steel helm inside it, and then add fur or whatever to
it.
I'd kinda like to have someone make a fur cloak that hooks on the front
of the cuirass, and falls over the back. (Like the leader guy in 13th
warrior)
Great movie by the way.
Anyways, just keep updating on progress.
Thanks
Edit 2007.07.16 17:21:
I figured out the basics of NifSkope so I have a lot of models, and
textures. Thats all I did on the ride from Oklahoma to Montana.
I also have GIMP, so I can create some textures too.
Thanks for the cut and paste info for Nifskope Siegfried.
I'll keep working on the models, and textures.

Wow, that looks almost like an entirely new model! Great work man--
though the weapons should probably be removed, and maybe some of the
pouches as they are likely to clip-- that's probably my biggest concern
about this-- that its going to clip like a bastard-- if you could
upload us a version with an esp and just the new nif that would be
great, so we can try out and see how it behaves ingame. The textures do
need some work though I think-- you probably should create original
textures from the ground up, as the current ones look too much like
they were just grey-scaled fur textures.
Overall good work though.

lol, I'll be sure to tell you if I'm stricken with a zombie virus.XD
Ohh, I'm not a modeller, I was just bored, and was supposed to be a texturer, so I thought hey, why not try modelling too.
I'm still working on it, I'm designing textures. But, I need to know
how to make it where it has steel plates, then has chain/fur under it.
That peeps through in some places. I can do that with seperate models,
and textures. But I'd like to make just one texture.
I'm using GIMP.
-Tlo-
PS I was wondering if I could just design a model, and textures from scratch, see if you like it, and we can add it to Skyrim?
I have a cool idea I think you'll like.
Here are more concepts for Mountaineer armor.

lol...people keep saying that...
Yeah, its a in game model...I just retextured.
Its cool, at least you replied.
Cool, I made it bloody cause he is supposed to be a warrior, that kills trolls. But I'll make a second one that isn't bloody.
I'll make a different model.
Thanks.

to include in the next .esm file release.
Have fun!

Hey, I wanna claim some more stuff.
I want to do the wolves retexture, and the wolf/bear armor. Though I
need permission to use Ghogiel's bear helm mesh. And I need permission
to use DN wolf helmet, off of his wolfsbane helmet.

Anyway, just click on my name for my email.

Look's nice n' battered. though it doesn't quite look metallic enough,
I would perhaps make it a bit more grey and shiny. Also I would suggest
re-texturing the handle to make it look more like a leather/wood grip
(you can still use a stock texture for that). The spine like effect on
the spikes gives away it's daedric origins, it should be bashed up in a
more random way in those areas.
You can do some cool stuff with normal maps as well, which can
radically alter the look of the weapon in game. A normal map with runes inscribed onto it can give a weapon a really nordic look.
