Skyrim for Oblivion, the first land test |
|
Well, the heightmap is here at last http://files.filefront.com/SkyrimHeightm...;/fileinfo.html
the eastern 2 quads all along the Morrowind border should be complete,
I have a fair ammount of progress done beyond that, but a lot of
revision is still needed. The warp door is in Bruma, it teleports you
to the future location of Riften. If you find anything significant take
a screen and post it up, if you catch a problem please tell me about
it. I'm not sure how time consuming it is, but if it isn't to difficult
could someone take the height data and do a quick render of it so I can
ge a better look at the terrain?
Currently the landscape is just there, not objects, terrain textures, LOD, or anything else.
EDIT: BTW here is an overview of the heightmap http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/qi...mgAnch=imgAnch1
the highlighted square at the bottom is the only area we should be
particularly concerned about. The basin west of it will be much rockier
later on. This post has been edited 1 time(s), it was last edited by Siegfried: 30.07.2006 18:14.

What program did you use to genrate the land? I might do a test later on in the day, once I post up the Arenthia claims.

One more question, how big do you plan on making Skyrim, quad wise.

For some reason I'm unable to load the hightmap in the CS, the loading freezes at about 95% (so close
). Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just my computer playing cruel tricks on me... again.

Try converting it to a master. Loading a plugin of that size in the CS causes serious slow down, a master should fix that.

Good to know this is my first post in the skyrm section and I have been
looking at your work and started to create my own sort've skyrm styled
land but less populated and then I decided maybe I'll come over here
and help out. I am unsure how to upload stuff on for dwnlding though so
if somebody could tell me how then that would make me availiable to
start and help this sweet mod

Welcome OblivionMon!
Always glad to see someone new around here.
You can upload small files directly on this forum by using the attach
file function (the file needs to be in an acceptable format) or use a
free file host like FileFront or FileFactory for larger uploads.
What exactly would you like to help out with?
