There was a guy who was supposed to make a longboat for us, but he disappeared. If you want to model it, it would be excellent as we REALLY need one. Yes Same goes for the shield, but that's low priority.

I think modelling a long boat would be very interesting. Not to mention testing my skills and being very different than anything I've tried before. I'll think about how it could be done. I'll do some more research on it.

I thought it must be a needed model. how else are them nords invading everyone.

Yeah and I peeked those shields a while back I couldn't remember if there was that tear drop shape anywhere. they look good. would only take 2hours to model the new one anyway. I've been wantng to try this tutorial out

I've done my research now. I have all the refeance pics I'm gonna use. I'm pretty sure I know exactly how I'll build most of it. I'm busy with all the other stuff right now. so won't start it for a week or 2.

When detailed it'll look like this. Notice it will make a very very cool display of all of those shield skins psychotic made :D


It's the oseberg ship if anyone wants to google it. The other alternative was the gokstad ship. But I like the lines of the oseberg a lot more so that is what we're gonna have :)

I made the good part of the boat. I know, I shouldn't be making models, I should be rigging or something..... I just can't help it. modelling is the nutz

BTW its gonna look so damn cool! With 30 nords sitting on deck and their shields adorning the out side of the boat... huzzah!

With the front top and side views all being in scale with one another in that one pic I posted....made this a breeze to model. It took under 2hrs to get that far.
I really like useing a spline line to trace stuff if I can. Then its like connect the dots in 3D :D and for best results just make pretty lines that are as straight as possible.
