Murderous inn quest. Needs much scripting I guess Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       Go to the top of this page

Okey well here we go then. *WARNING MUCH TEXT!!!*

Well, this little quest takes place on an inn where the player stops by to either eat, sleep or whatever. Anyways, upon entry the door behind him/her (I?m gonna go with him) is locked. And all is quiet, now he may be fearing that something foul is about to happen.
Almost certainly, in this panicked situation he starts to look for an exit. But instead of an exit he finds a dining room full of NPCs who is mingling, eating, drinking etc.
Now there should be about 5 NPCs in the diningroom plus the staff, then we end up approximately at 8 NPCs.
Now ill talk about the Npcs.

Arne Atzwig: he's a imperial male and working as a travelling merchant. He stopped by the inn to rest and eat, and in the next day continue his travels.
If the player asks for rumours, Arne will say that he is a little freaked about the inn staff. They have been acting very strangely since he arrived. Though it should take some time to convince him to get that information.

Weldon Foire: A Breton mage. However, he will act as if he was a peaceful travelling merchant until the player sees him fight. If the player asks for rumours Weldon will say that ?Arne Atzwig is a strange fellow, he seems uncomfortable almost paranoid when there are many people around, however he could be suffering from some kind of claustrophobia, poor man.? Though it should take some time to convince him to get that information.

Corvin Grunenwald: A nord male who is travelling with his imperial wife Magrette Krebs on a honeymoon. But he and he's wife has false identities as well as they are both bounty hunters sent out to find and kill Arne Atzwig. If the player asks for rumours he will say ?That guy Arne Atzwig, is a dangerous convict. I?ve heard that fled from the imperial prison a couple of days ago, I don?t know where he's going now but I should stay away from him if I where you?. Though it should take some time to convince him to get that information.

Magrette Krebs: Described above. If the player asks for rumours she will only offer basic information such as where she?s travelling etc.

Wolfgang Nuhr: Imperail male and acts as if he where a smith on holiday to meet his love in ?Riften?. Actually he is a witch hunter and has been sent here to find a vampire, he knows that someone located in this inn is one. However he hasn?t found any specific clues to who it might be (inn staff). If the player ask for rumours Wolfgang just waves him of saying ?No time for small talk my friend, enemies are lurking behind every corner?. It should be pretty obvious to the player that Wolfgang isn?t a smith but something else.

Inn staff: Heinz Wahdner (BADGUYnr1) and his two sons Waldor and Oswald Wahdner. Heinz uses this inn as a trap for travellers, before the next day arrives he will try to kill everyone of the patrons. One by one (including the player). He kills the people and give them to the vampire that lives in his basement.

(Every NPC can give the player basic information about where their from etc)

So well lets continue. The as the player mingles around with the npcs. The staff will go away (they cannot be followed so the scripter might consider teleporting them) the player will get a room to sleep in, if he wishes. At about 10 o clock everyone goes to bed. The player might not but that doesn?t matter he will still hear people die. About 12 o clock the player is waken by a scream or if his up he will hear it. If he investigates he will find that Magrette Krebs accidentally stepped on a booby-trap. (She dies of course). After this incident the player will wake up again now with Weldon standing over him saying that Arne has been killed. If the player investigates he will find a knife belonging to Corvin. Well if the player sits there and does nothing all the people will eventually die one way or another. The front door is still locked. If the player confronts Corvin about the knife, Corvin sees no other way out so he tells the truth about the bounty hunter. Well at the end the player should try to investigate the inn and finds a trapdoor down to where the staff is hiding. There should be some kind of diary down there so that the player understands the plot. Then its just to go and kill the vampire who has the key out. (If Wolfgang survives all the way he will show up and help the player when he confronts the vamp)

Well thats it, hope you liked it. Best luck with this mod btw :)

And like it I do! :D The scripting for this isn't as hard as you might think, for example the player's controls could be disabled for a short time while the staff leaves, he will be only able to look around for about 10 seconds.

Well as long as the player doesnt get too bored and starts to kill everyone of the key npc's. Thats my only concern. Anyways I think it would be a pretty nice "out of the ordinary"l quest. Dunno about you guys though.

That is awesome, it will be really interesting if properly executed. Although don't bump, this thread isn't going to disappear into a mass of random posts like they do on the Elder Scrolls Forums, people will read it when they come online.

It's ok to bump older threads that people might have missed. :)
