Greetings Nords! Long time lurker, first time poster here. I'm a huge fan of Nords (it's the only race I play
), so I fully support Skyrim for Oblivion. I think what you guys are
doing is great, so I wanted to help out a bit by doing some concept
art. It's not great, but I'm no Van Gogh. Here it is--
I hope everyone likes it. Comments and constructive criticism are appreciated.
Also, I'd be more than willing to take any requests you guys have.

Welcome Azazel!
I really like the detail on that armor, that chain pattern could have
been very rushed but it isn't. Also that dagger is excellent as well as
all the other concepts.
I can't think of any weapon or armor concepts that we need right now,
but new ideas on architecture are always nice to see. You can draw what
you like really as I can see you know the feel that we're trying to
give Skyrim.

Not another one.....
That somehow reminds me of Rohan stuff. But yeah, dagger is great.
Anyway..... welcome to Beyond Cyrodiil.

All these people welcoming me and complimenting my art... it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I'll get started on the architecture as soon as I can, maybe in a day
or two. I have two projects that are due this week, and an essay.
Freakin' school, makes me wanna punch a baby.

So there is another Nord purist out there! You must like to dance close
to the fire don'tcha. Well of course it would remind you of the Rohan
stuff from LotR. They're based off of the nordic peoples of northern
Europe! But that said, Bravo! Excellent concepts, though I wouldn't go
with the horns in the helmet approach. It's too cliche to me.
Also, you might want to add a little more fur to the chainmail. You
have to remember, it's really freaking cold in some places, and while
nords are resistant to frost, not everyone else is. Besides, it just
looks cool. I like how you kept the established Nord look, it reminds
me of the Skaal.

Speaking of modelling I've become pretty adept at it in Maya over the
past few months. I'd like to have a go at something but I don't know
what yet.

Well weapons are easy to do and fun. Architecture is also easy, but can
be time consuming. Getting Armour in-game is confusing as hell though. |

I was thinking something that's NOT weapons or armour. It's the
background stuff like architecture, furniture, misc items etc that
makes the game feel different and not just a retex of Oblivion.
Personally I'd like to have a go at some furniture

I know what you mean. Back in April when I managed to port the Nordic
Silver Battle Axe into my game, I started messing around with armor to
see how I could do it...hoping that if something paid off I would
donate it to the cause (obviously not using Morrowind assets), but I
failed after a few weeks of trying and haven't really attempted again
since. Its one of those situations where you get the kinda get the idea
of it but not enough for it to work.

I love the detail on the blade of the Axe.
maybe put some of those cool details into the blades of the sword,
simple things like that isn't to hard to change on the models as will,
as you add in some paint lines. otherwise good work keep the stuff
coming
