I was just thinking about some Bloodmoon quests and thought of the
Altmer who was researching the Falmer and had you search for clues (and
finding the Snow Prince's armor and book). After he gives you the money
he then says he go to Skyrim to continue the research after this next
(and next, and next) glass of Brandy. Well sooner or later one would
assume Raven Rock's supply of Brandy ran dry and he finally did indeed
go to Skyrim.
Why not had a series of quests, similar to the Umbacanno quests of
Oblivion, where you help him search for Falmer info (though not
necessarily with the same end result).
I always found those type quests the most fun, though it would be nice to form your own band of explorers/adventurers too.
