Windhelm Quest, Druken Apologises |
|
Location: Windhelm
Note: This is a follow up quest on the quest, Memories in the back of the mind
You are aproached by the other aprentice from the previous quest in a
bar (he is now wearing tatty clothes and looks like a bum) he asks why
you had to dob him in (very drunkenly) and says that he wants an
apologly, you then reply either A) i'm very sorry or B) you deserved it
you tried to steal someones mind! either way you get the response,
What'd ya cal me mother!? and you end up in a far fight.
Killing him ends the quest, however if you knock him out he gets back up and walks of fto the nearest bed.
A few days after he aproaches you (not completly frunk, but ot sober)
and apologises for the other night. He then asks if he should try and
appologise to the Guildmaster to try and get back in, you can either
reply, A) I don't think he would let you in, why not become a street
preformer instead (Street preformers in Windhelm are mentioned in lore)
or B) It would be worth a shot if you really want to get back in.
If you went with A) he gets a beer and goes outside and begins to sing
(very horibly) and every now and then asks for money. If you went with
B) He goes to the mages guild and asks to be reaccepted into the guild,
the guildmaster says he will not let him back into the guild, and that
he should become a street preformer, in which case he goes and starts
preforming like in A.
After either the consequence of A) or B) you can get the disposition of
the guildmaster high enough to let him back in, in which case you tell
him he has been reaccepted and can join, and depending on the
disposition of the aprentice when you ask the question he either
accepts or continues being a street preformer.
Either way he gives you a key to his family burial tombs, and the quest is finished.

I like it. How would you choose between killing him and knocking him out? Via a pop-up choice box, when his health is low?

I think a pop up saying to knock him out before the fight would be acceptable.

Lol, who could dislike a quest with a guy trying to sing drunk for money?
I love follow up quests like this.
What sort of things will be in the burial tombs? Apart from.. erm you know bones. Family treasures maybe?

All the essentials
I'm anxious to hear the voice acting with the drunken singing -- very cool!

Sort of slurred, and every now and then in the middle of the song he'll
shout at people to give him money. He'll be very convincing

I agree lol. Something that isn't appropriate to perform, only appropriate to sing at an inn with drunken buddies.

I'm not too good at writing poetry... though I could certainly get drunk and sing it if someone decides to write it.

I just dug up this
old thread. Maybe that could be the song our drunken Nord is singing.
It would be kinda funny to see a wasted Nord singing an "educational"
song on the topic of drinking.

I don't really want it to be a song as such, it's more of a made up on
the spot sort of thing, most of it won't even make much sense.

Ok, but we'll have to provide the eventual voice actor/singer with something.

I'll see if I can record something on the spot next time I'm drunk.
