Well the player is in one of the cities and sees an old man by the name
of gomm who has a a small task. He says Barad took something from him.
The two old men are rivals who have debates and whoever wins gets
something in return. Gomm lost the debate and had to give his golden
coin. Gomm says he cheated and he wants you to get it back cause he
calls it a "lucky coin." The coin is in Barad's cupboard and it is
locked. The key is upstaires on Barad's nightstand. When you bring it
back he rewards you with a book that trains you in speechcraft 1 point.

Nice and simple, I like it. Would be a nice quest for a thief.

Yeh indeed, it kindda reminds me of the stolen staff quest though (with
the key you gotta steal first), 1 speechcraft is kindda lame though
since its even worse then nothing (for those who want to level
efficient)
The idea is fine though

Nice quest, I like it.
I suggest the reward being 5 speechcraft though as 1 is really little.

A completely unique book, with no bonuses would be cool. It has to be
interesting, and so rare that it is the only one in the game. |

Yeh thats pretty cool, but who would read that? Would be even better if
it gave hints about lost treasures which the player will have to find
(for example place a trapdoor in the middle of nowhere without the
marker so the player will have to read the book to find it (or trip
over it)
the hunt for lost treasures
but then the quest will become only the start of the actual quest, which isn't bad actually..
