Goblin Slayer (Sidequest) |
|
I was thinking about how Skingrad's FG members were supposedly "Goblin
Hunting" specialists, but nothing was done so the player could make a
living off it.
Perhaps as a sidequest in one of the regions of Skyrim there is a
chieftan/Baron, who's land has always been raided by goblin war parties
(whether it be the farms or traders passing through) and so developed a
hatred for them. As such he has made it well known that any adventurer
who brings him a head of a goblin will make some money (maybe 10, 25,
or 50 per head depending on what type of Goblin). Thus, it would be
similar to the "black bow" situation in Leyawiin and allow a non-guild
type to make a living.
Perhaps after every 50 or 100 goblins the player's fame rises a point or two.
As for the heads, I assume it would be possible to base it off the
totem staff's model of a goblin head...though I don't know if you could
make the head go missing on the goblin's body after you take the head.
I don't know if Rieklings are the Skyrim's goblin, and if so, I am sure that could work too.
Perhaps bringing back a tribe's totem to the chieftan will bring you
even more money and if a certain number are gained than you are given a
title or a house or maybe a room in his castle.
Feedback is very welcome.

Skyrim has Rieklings and Ice Goblins, and probably a few normal variant
goblins along the border, so really it all depends on the region. I
like the idea

A huge goblin army has occupied the main road to the Barons keep and
his is VERY upset. he sends you with 4 of his knights to kill the army.
Except there are 50 goblins. 20warriors 10berserkers 10shamans
2warleaders 1headshaman 1headwarchief 6 bodyguards sounds neat?

...frame...rate...rape... I wish Oblivion could support that much action because I would be all for it.

Maybe the goblins corpses could disappear and new goblins respawn?

That's plausible, have the goblins attack in "waves" so to speak.

Just have them in caves much easier on the frmarate and you can split one cave into seperate cells.

yes, definitely easier.....the black bow trophy idea sounds very cool,
I also thought more quests of this kind would have been a nice way to
earn
maybe make it ears though

it might be easy to put some random object on all of the goblins, like
a specifc weapon or shield that you could bring back as that is far
easier to do.

I like the idea also!!!
Ways to make a living and occupy the player which is not necessarily
guild related I likes. Especially in Skyrim, it?d be cool if it?s
possible to live as a freeroaming Nord going from settlement to
settlement getting drunk and taking whatever oppurtunities to make some
money with his axe..
I agree with Toyb that it?d be best to put them in caves...

That's true. I figured a severed head would be more Nordish but it probably isn't worth the time given the result.
Perhaps not a weapon (since there are some that use bows and some that
use regular melee weapons) but something like a necklace. Or maybe
teeth like the bear quest in vanilla Oblivion.

hehe yeah a severed head would be coolest, but teeth would - it?s still a bodypart
Necklaces and stuff cool also for chiefs and shamans...

Maybe... though teeth are a good idea since they can be easily distinguished by their shape (by semi-experts on goblinology
).

Unless you slay a sweetcake fiend of a goblin...try explaining to the
chieftan why you should be paid full for a single tooth (since it was
all the damn goblin had!)
