Vernim Wood Quest, No-Hand-Man |
|
Note: Needs a hand stub mesh to have the appearnace he doesn't have a hand.
Location: Venim Wood/Mountain Peak/Greybeard Cave
In Venim Wood there lives a carver who has recently lost his hand in an
unfortunate wood carving accident, he now lives in poverty unable to
work.
He approaches you and asks if you would go to the village shaman to use his magic to give him hand back.
When you talk to the village shaman about it he says that what he asks
for is immpossible, but he knows of an ancient elixer on a high
mountain peak of which can grow back arms, legs, feet and hands, or any
body part that has been cut off or wounded.
You reach the peak, at the top is a cave you enter the cave to find
there is a greybeard, in your mind you here his whispers he says that
if you want the exlir you must pass nine tests.
(Not sure exactly what the tests are yet)
Once you have passed the tests you get the exlir and bring it back to the man who then drinks it and his hand grows back.
As a reward he gives you a carved mug he made, one he had enchanted to bring him a little more luck (Tankard of Begger's Luck).

Great idea
The only comment I have is that the family heirloom is used a bit too
often, maybe he can give something else like a map that leads to some
treasure.

Cool! I like it!
He could give you a sculpture of... err, something...
A sculpture that has some meaning, maybe a rune? ...

I like that sculpture idea, maybe just something that will increase a few stats as long as it is in the inventory.

Very strange, I don't make a habit of deleting my own posts.
Anyway it was about the carved sculpture being a carved mug that he got
enchanted to give him more luck, I edited the top post after I made the
post with that to include it.
Anyway should I send ths to the published section now? or is there anything that needs improving still?

Drain of fifty intelligence
Maybe just 20+ luck while it's in your inventory.

I was kidding. My real suggestion would be +15 luck, -5 intelligence.

15 luck?? thats insane... its the same as adding 12 levels to every
skill you have, it improves damage well what isn't aaffected by it? Id
say 10 luck -5 intelligence

You can hardly even notice the effect luck has on events in OB, I think
having a bigger luck bonus is acceptable for that reason.

It does have a huge effect, but its hard to notice it, luck is the best of the attributes but its also the most hidden.

I can see that this discussin will drag on for quite awhile and it is
pretty much pointless, when the quest is ready to be put in game I'll
re-open this thread.
Cheers,
