Problem with that theory is that Solstheim itself is rather flat and completely devoid of volcanoes.

Yeah you?re right I believe, islands like that I think would turn out pretty crazy landscape wise.

Glaciers also create jagged rocks. Also because it never rains and
instead snows on solstheim, they could just not be as exposed to
weathering as smooth rocks. Lets forget about why they are pointy for
now, and instead just get our old favorite rocks into the game now.

Glaciers would be cool to see in the waters of Skyrim.

The Mortrag Glacier was destroyed at the end of BM, but icebergs are certainly a possibility.

I do remember a really good mod for MW that put Icebergs around the sea
of Solstheim, if it used new models maybe we could get them, give them
a higher face count and then give them LOD, and it would be spectacular

It was on Thelys, but Thelys no longer exists so I don't know where to find it, it could be on TESsource but I'm not sure...

Wow! Icebergs would be very cool indeed!!!
It?d be cool if there was some very remote secret somewhere around the
icebergs that you?d have to take a boat to (a player controlled boat,
if there is a boat mod released that is neat enough to use)..

Well there was this idea of placing an ice cave inside an iceberg as a special sort of dungeon.
I just hope we can get some iceberg models first.

I just finished fixing all the landscape textures, I'm so glad that is over
But now I have to by hand finish detailing the area around thirsk, the
Skaal Village and the area around the previous glacier and Castle
Karstaag, also place about 100-200 of GB rocks around the Island. Which
in terms of time is about 3-10 more hours of hard work.
But it's all good because I don't have school now for 8 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know Raven Rock is pretty much dead/abandoned, but how is Fort
Frostmoth faring? I'd think they may have given up after the werewolf
attack.

The captain ran away in madness, and then the Nords invaded and drove the imperials out. Then Necromancers took it over
The walls never got rebuilt, so it is pretty much the same as it was at
the end of the BM MQ, apart from the fact that Necromancer's inhabit
it.

It sucks that the CS can't save as, that would be such a great thing to
have...prehaps that team who are making an alt to the CS can
incorperate that into their design...

I saw that was one of the requests in the thread for it on the official
forum. That and a more user friendly UI were the 2 main ones I think

*Update*
I have decided to refrain from redoing all the ground textures and
fixing the terrain until I can get over the fact I lost 8+ hors of
work, so instead I am going to concentrate on getting Thormoor's Watch
completly finished, including interiors and exteriors.
So that is about 10+ tents and a Skaal Watch Tower/Lighthouse (Being made by Entartet).
Once that is done, I'll move onto the Horker Hunting Camp, which is only going to be 3-5 tents.
After that I'll get all finished dungeons and Dwelling merged and connected to their respectful exteriors.
Then I'll get Thirsk and the Skaal Village in (permitting the exterior moels are made).
Then I'll fix all of the bugs in the landscape (because I want a big gap before I have to tackle the massive task again).
Cheers,
TOYB
P.S. The tent colour is a lot whiter now, however it is still slightly
tinted brown, which is okay as it is very close to the colour of a
Horker now anyway.

Fix the exterior first, then merge it into the Solstheim master so multiple people can work on it at once.

There is no point in two people working on the Exterior as it really is
only a one person job (well one person meaning me who is really three
peoples speed
).
The best thing people can do to help me is to finish interiors as I put them up, or atleast claim them.

Yes - but other people may like
to help (and should be given the opportunity to do so). Whether you
think it is pointless or not, it's still a community effort. |

But really I can get most of the exterior work done in the next 5-9
hours anyway, and most of the exterior work after fixing the lanscape
textures can only be done when the appropriate models have been made.
If peope really want to help, they can pick up interiors as soon I'll be putting up about 18 tent claims.

That doesn't mean I will, I have to have a break from my computer at
11:30 (the time now here is 9:50) then I can resume at 4:00.
Also I have already put the way I'm going to be handling things, the exterior work will come last.
Also that whole list will be finished as soon as Entartet releases his
model set, which I assume will be quite soon anyway and even if I did
give the file over to another person to do half of the work it would
more likely take longer because of peoples work schedule differing
slightly from mine.

All interiors and exteriors of Solstheim should be available for public
claiming. Once we have the models required they should be merged with
the main file and the file should be made available for internal
downloading. Merge your Horker skin tents with the Solstheim.esp once
you have finished them and put the ints for Thormoor's Watch up for
claiming.
You can do the exterior of Thormoor's Watch, but all other exterior locations should be opened for claiming.
Since it's better to have the all the land textures and all the rocks
and trees tweaked before any other statics are placed, interior work is
the best focus of our efforts atm (aka the tent ints for Thormoor's
Watch).
Also since we will need to place Greybeard's pointy rocks around the
island and since Cow has made some very nice land textures for us it
might be better if we generated all the land textures and statics from
scratch so the new rocks and land textures can be included... it would
definitely take a lot longer for this to be done by hand.

I definitely agree about re-generating the terrain textures and statics
once we have all our models, we can make it much better looking that
way. |
