Thirsk Quest, The Last Werewolf. |
|
Note: This is the quest for the Title of Chieften in Thirsk.
Location: Thirsk/Hrothmund's Bane/Solstheim
The last of the Solstheim werewolves lies somewhere in the wilderness,
they were all hunted down after the events of six years ago by the
cobined forces of the Skaal and the people of Thisk. However it seemed
this one eluded them, and has done for a long time.
The quest begins when the PC is asked if they know of *name* and *name*
who went looking for the urfredyke(sp) matron in Skyrim (you must of
previously done this quest) by a person in Thirsk. If you know you say
"Yes" and continue onto say that they were killed by the urfredyke
Matron. At hearing this, he becomes upset, and then asks what happened
to the the Urfredyke. You then respond that you killed it. Upon hearing
this he says that if you did and had some sort of Trophe, that would
make the PC the new Chieftan. You then tell him that you do not have
anything to show for killing it. He then says that if you do kill
anything like that again, or for that matter anyone does that would
make them the new Chieftan of Thirsk.
You then ask if there is such a beast that would compare. He responds
that there is a rumor that a Werewolf survived the great purge of
werewolfs after the events of the Bloodmoon, and that if you killed
that and brought back it's heart you would almost certainly become the
next Chieftan.
You now go in search of the beast.
(This spawns an Npc in the wilderness, who has a full schedule of running around the Island
).
The player then travels around the Island until he finds a man called
"Captain Carius". The player talks to him, he yells at the player to
get back and he also yells that Hircine controls this place. Then the
screen goes black and a movie of the moon rising and Hircine muttering
the words in the background "The moon controls the beast, and I turn
the it." It then comes back and it is at midnight and Captain Carius
has turned into a werewolf, you then fight to the death.
When you kill him, you find on his inventory his heart and a journal (bitten in a few places
) and in the journal it explains what happened after he got back to
Fort Frostmoth after the events of the Bloodmoon. He got bitten, then
he starts to turn into one, then he starts to follow his urges and
hunts, he at first his frightened by the fact he was doing this, then
he starts to enjoy it, living a double life. However at one point he
just snapped and went completly insane and killed lots of people and
ran out into the wilderness. He then after years living in the wild
starts to hear Hircine in his head, driving him insane. He then elludes
the werewolf huning partys, etc.
(Back to the quest) You now return to Thirsk and show the trophe, and
explain that the werewolf was Captain Carius. They then say you must go
to Hrothmund's Bane and get the blessing you need to become Chieftan.
You do this then return to the Thirsk and you are now Chieftan, which comes with a big room, money, etc.
End.

I wouldn't make the quest dependant on any Skyrim quests. and maybe
make sure that the player has to do a few more Solstheim quests before
he can start this one. |

There aren't that many people to tax in Thirsk, but maybe a mead (like in BM) or hunting business would work.
Anyway, cool quest.

Cool quest....but I hate having to kill Captain Carius...he's the man.

It's not a Skyrim quest, that quest I mentioned was a stock OB one,
however ingame it said they followed the beast into Cyrodiil from
Skyrim

While not directly connected to the quest I would still like to ask
what the benefits will be for the player if he becomes the Chieftain of
Thirsk (except for the big room and all that)?
As Thirsk is a mead hall a small mead importing business like in BM would be good.

Basically all the stuff you could do in BM and anything else we can
think off (I think once a week being able to take out a hunting party
of you and three other men would be cool).
But really this is stuff to talk about when the quest is being
implemented in the game, as by the time we do, new things might be
possible we didn't know how to do before
