Entartet's Skaal Architecture |
|
Hello,
TOYB asked me, if I want to do some Skaal Architecture. I like the
Skaal style very much, so why not? I'm still searching for some
textures for the Skaal builldings, if you like to make them just post
or send me a pm. Here are the first screenshots: - hope you like them
(sorry for my bad english)
Please post your improvment suggestions !!!
I also work on Tower of Silgrad

Very nice
Where does that shadow on the building to the left come from? Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that a shadow bug.

Altogether have now about 11000 poly and 11000 faces, so this should not be a problem.

Looking good
and it's great you've got such a low-ish count
What building are you working on now? The Mead Hall would be good, because it means I can get thirsk completly detailed.
Also could you make a lighthouse in the same sort of style, as it is
planned that Thormoor (the guy who couldn't sleep in BM) built a
lighthouse at Thormoor's Watch.

Go for around the same amount used on a stock OB model of around the same size and complexity.
And that is so good, I mean really good, so I good I think that I might form a relegion around the miracles you are working

O.K. it's looking good, but I think your over doing the amount of
detail in the model, e.g. like places which could use alpha mapping for
detailing it (e.g. the balcony) and places where the textures could be
used, and posibly using paralax to show the amount of depth in the
model (again on the base on the stone parts you have bricks comming out
which could be done with the texture). Also you are going a little over
board on how much faces your gving the logs, if you make them square in
apperance you can save on faces.
But over all it's a great job
I'd really like to see you make a lighthouse in that style because we need one for Thormoor's Watch
Cheers,
TOYB

I don't think the details on the balcony can by done with alpha
channels as you will be able to see the "flatness" of the details when
standing underneath the balcony.
But I think a few faces can be saved on the stone bricks at the bottom
as that can certainly be done with the textures and _n maps.
All in all amazing work.

The Decorations on the door can be done by texture too.

Make it a bit bigger, and see if you can get the door to be a square.
Very nice otherwise....

Yeah needs to be bigger, and the square door. Also the roof needs to be
slightly thatch, but I guess that texture is only a stand-in for now
anyways.
Looks very good, I hope you can do some more houses aswell

Very nice, I like the touches you put in like snow piling up on the wood.
You could take the icecycles and make them seperate objects so they can be placed on any buildings.
Overall very nice job

New ingame screenshots with some new Details, Alpha maps, and new textures (still not final, Stilgar is working on it)

They should look about 80% like the oringinals from BM, the other 20% is your creative ability |
Sorry, TOYB I think this is more then 20 percent, but I hope you like it anyway

The size can be changed in CS, so this should be no problem.

Why did you add the side bits? I like them, but atleast for the Mead
Hall in the Skaal Village it needs to be more like the one in
Bloodmoon, so if you would, could you please make two versions, one
with the side bits and one without.
Thnx.
Also does the model have colision yet?

Great
Have you done anymore buildings, or got the old buildings ingame? Also
a Skaal well is needed still, and interiors for the buildings, with the
Mead Hall either needing a modulated set for the interior or two solid
interior pieces, as the Skaal Village mead hall and Thirsks mead hall
have differnt interiors...
