New Artist Here (a few concepts) |
|
I noticed your thread on the offical forums, and the project instantly
got my attention. My player is rarely a nord, but I love the culture
and designs, even if I tend to exagerate a bit too much. I can only
really do art for this project till the 12th, (when I go back to
school) but I'm more than willing to give you guys whatever you may
need. I'll be checking in of course, and I'll try to make time as well.
I go to an art school, and the freshman year is insane when it comes to
the workload.
Specialties would be more along the lines of creature design and humaniods, but I could muster some landscapes as well.
Here's a few things. One new sketch for the thread (the armor concept)
and two extras from my sketch book that related to the material
possibly and I threw it in.
Always wanted to do some modding but was never really skilled with the CS, and I'm very uneducated when it comes to 3d.
Anything you want drawn, just let me know. I own a tablet for the
computer and can paint in photoshop as well. Feel free to visit my
deviantart, but nothing there is really all that interesting. |

Welcome to Skyrim for Oblivion -mp- !
Those concepts are great, I like the Minotaur one.
You can do concepts for whatever you like really - architecture, weapons and armour would all be good things to do.

Hello there and a warm welcome to Skyrim!!!
Wow those concepts are awesome, you have great talent and skill!!
I also like the minotaur one most!
As Alasdair said, anything is good use since there has?nt been very
much concepts coming up lately. I?d suggest browsing the forums a
little to get familiar with the project and get a feel for what is
needed.
Looking forward to see more of your work!!!

Welcome -mp-!
The Minotaur does look awesome!
Would you be interested in drawing a few concepts based on the architecture models in this thread.
Corwyn (the guy who modeled that architecture) left the team a while
back and his vision of that architecture style and the few finished
models left with him. If you can come up with a few good concepts for
it we might be able to restart work on the set.

Excellent stuff, I'm really impressed with emotions you present
especially with that lady over there and her arrogant snobbish look.
And welcome to Beyond Cyrodiil of course (I stopped counting a long time ago Psychotic
).

Wow, thanks for such a great welcome! I looked at that thread Psychotic
and I can't see why I wouldn't do it. Over all, you just want a style
defined and developed with basic builds and arrangements? Do you want
this historically accurate, or can it be inspired for the most part. To
throw in something eye grabbing, would that be cool?
Here's two more sketches out of another sketchbook of mine. The first
is just a ceature design. I consider it a night beast. The emblems of
his arms glow when he is attacking, either a bright orange or bright
bright blue. He has two sets of eyes, one for very low light situations
and one for normal. Only one can be open at a time. The rather fragile
face is encased in a very strong bone-like material. It runs on all
fours, but can use a kick attack, as well as swing with the arms, and
charge. I wanted to include the little guy with the horns down there so
you got an angry zombie and very stylized bear
This second one is sort of funny, but I noticed my art history teacher
would make a great warrior sans his glasses. So I had to giv the
legendary Dr. Knotts an oblivion style look.
I'll try to get to some buiilding concepts up here soon, and maybe a creature or two since they are just fun to do.

Wow, the new drawings are excellent!
It would be really cool if someone modeled the creature in your first
drawing, I think it can actually use the troll animations as they would
be a good approximation of the attacks and movements you described
(except for the charge attack).

The architecture style in the thread I posted is for use in Winterhold,
the capitol of Skyrim. You have the freedom to use your imagination
since it's not strongly based on any historical buildings from the real
world. The architecture should include low, middle, and high class
buildings, but you can concentrate on the middle class ones as the
higher and lower class buildings are only variations of that style.
Also the buildings should look very "capitolish" if possible (I have no
idea what I mean by that, but all in all the buildings should look
impressive
), and some of them should go up to 3 stories in height.
All the rest is up to you.

Thanks again for the kind words.
I understand about the achitecture now. I got a few ideas going now
dealing with shacks, homes, apartment style living, shelters, manors,
religious structures, and possible watch towers.
I can incorporate wooden, carved pillars and balconies into the designs
to give it the upper class feel. On top of that the complexity of
rooflines could give that feel. Big chimneys and such. I'm sort of
excited about this. After I get home I will most likely crash since
I've only really had 2 hours of sleep since noon yesterday. College has
reaked havoc on my sleep cycle. First thing tommorrow I'll get started
on this.
I'll do some basic sketches of a few different styles, and I'll post to see which ones you all like.
I have a skeleton, nordic warrior sketch I just rememebered around here
somewhere. I saw somewhre on the forum here, something about them. |

Aw'right, aw'right! Enough of this nicey, nicey stuff! GET TO WORK!!
Ya said yer good with PS?
Well, I need a rock texture with runes on it - I'd prefer a 256x256 or
512x512 texture with the normal map. I'd like several various runes on
it, with a border section also. I'll uv map the various runed Solstheim
rocks to this texture as needed. You can use the westwealdburned
texture as a base if you wish, since that's what I've used on all the
other Solstheim rocks. If you've played Bloodmoon, you probably know
the rocks I'm talkin about - but I can't just steal the BM texture,
'cause Beth don't like it.
btw, Welcome to Skyrim, -mp- !

Hate to rain on the parade, but I have only ever worked with a texture
once in my life and it turned out looking like an ugly terd. I just
don't get it. When I'm referring to PS I mean moreso that I can paint
and color the concepts if the need is there. I'm sure I'll paint a few
just for fun anyway.
I'll probably give it a shot anyway, but don't count on anything but "ugly terd" runes.

That looks great man! I love that big "Night Beast" of yours, kinda
reminds me of twilight beasts from Zelda Twilight Princess. That is one
creature I really think we should have modeled and included in Skyrim,
only problem I can think of is what skeleton would it use. |

Wow, love your concepts!
I think the very 1st one is a little too futuristic, but still awesome..
I like the minotaur one the most, it is sooo detailed.
Great Work!
And WELCOME TO TES IV:SKYRIM!!!
