Fame needed for quest: 21
Reward: 1 Fame Point
Once a player reaches the town of [insert town here] the player is approached by an old Nord woman.
Woman: My daughter! She's gone, please you must help me!
Character has two choices in response -
A. I have no time for your ravings. (Dialogue then ends)
B. What's the problem?
If character chooses choice B:
Woman: My daughter, she dissapeared overnight! I went to her room this
morning and all I found was this! (Character is given ransom note)
Please you must help her! (Dialogue then ends)
The ransom note reads: I have taken your daughter, if you ever want to see her again leave 300 gold in the chest inside [insert cave name here].
A journal entry appears saying that the character should ask around the
village before doing anything else. As the character asks around the
village he/she finds out that the daughter has been seeing a very shady
character, and that he actually lives in the cave that the character
needs to go to. They also say that the character should be careful, as
its rumored to be full of bandits.
A new journal entry: After asking around town, it appears that the
daughter has been seeing a rather shady character, he can be found at
[cave name here], and that I should be careful, because it is a bandit
hide-away, I should also bring 300 gold to pay off her ransom.
The character goes to the cave and must fight its way through the cave,
at the end is a chest, but before the character gets to it a man and
woman appear. The man talks to the character.
Man: "I was going to let you put the ransom money in the chest, but I
think I'll just kill you and take it and anything else you have on you
as well!" (Man attacks character, character kills man.
The daughter walks forward and starts talking: Thank-You for saving me,
this man was to be my husband, but he took me to this cave to hold me
hostage, waiting for his ransom, I can make it home myself, but I
suggest you go back to town to see my mother.
Dialogue ends and character heads back to town, where he is once again met by the Mother.
Mother: Thank you, thank you for saving my daughter. Thank you so much. (Dialogue ends)
*As you can see, character does not recieve any reward, this is meant
to be a quest for those 'do-gooders', than again, there is no better
reward than helping people.
**This is really, the first thing I wrote, seems a bit confusing, hopefully you all can understand it and isn't to confusing.

Maybe by being a nice person and doing the quest for apparently
nothing, another quest will be unlocked when you talk to such and such,
who has heard about your good deed and would like assistance, and who
DOES have a reward for you? This would probably work by that person
approaching you next time you entered the town after a few days or
something.

Some things I noticed on second readthtough:
- the man in the cave can't say "you appear to have more valuable stuff
than 4k worth" because the PC may have nothing at all on them. Perhaps
the man could say "I was going to let you put the ransom money in the
chest, but I think I'll just kill you and take it and anything else you
have on you as well!"
- I'd suggest a much lower ransom, as the Player is going to assume
they're actually heading off to put the ransom in the chest, out of
their own money if they opt to pay themselves, maybe 300 would be
better?
- if the man who took the daughter is a shady character, it might be
better to fill the cave with special bandits. Would match his nature
better than living in a cave full of dead stuff and werewolves

Instead of a reward in the form of money/items the player could gain a
boost to his fame level after completeing the quest. |

I like that idea, makes the whole good guy thing sound better, and fame
is just as good, money can become rather redundant. |

Do you mean fame for this quest also? If so, how much?

I would just award the player 1 or 2 fame points after they complete it, not too many.

I vote 1 fame, because most Ob side quests don't have any fame reward
at all. Closing the gate at Bruma and saving a daughter probably
wouldn't have the same renown

I vote .25 fame points.
But seeing as that probably can't be done, we can go with 1.
[EDIT] All that remains is figuring out a town, (which one has room for
a quest), and the name of the cave. Then, of course, names for the
characters. Is Tamriel Rebuilt Name Generator alright to use, or should
names be a little more creative, and original?
Also, when we first meet the Nord woman, should her dialogue be changed, so its not all of sudden help me?
