Some of you may noticed I placed down a few buildings to mark the spot
of Pagran village a while back. I started work on it again tonight, and
I already have some pretty screenshots to show, obviously it's still
very much a WIP.
I may have some more screenies tommorow - or not, if I decide to model something...

Yes, unless it's in The Pale... I can't remember which exactly, but it is the only village outside the Rift or Eastmarch.

Update! NPC's and pathgrids plus a few AI schedules are now
implemented, and here's a completely irrelevant picture of Skyrim.
It would be nice if Oblivion displayed speedtree billboards at a
slightly greater distance so they don't just abrubtly disappear like in
the screen above. |

There's a nifty little open source application called hugin that
automatically takes a series of images and stitches them together into
a panorama for you. All you have to do is specify the FOV for the shots
(75) and it does the rest. You can get it here:
http://hugin.sourceforge.net/
As for progress, I now have AI routines for all the NPC's in the
village. All that's left to do is dialogue, which I should be able to
do in the next two days. If anyone has any cool ideas for stuff the
villagers could talk about please say so! |

I think it would be cool if some of the NPCs just gossiped. They don't
necessarily give you anything relevant about quests in their gossip,
but they do mention who is sleeping with who, how they think some young
Nord chickened out from his right of passage test to kill a draugr, or
about how they hate paying taxes to the big bad empire.
Stuff like that helps to bring out the life in individuals and give
some more depth to areas besides just what the player can see and do. |

maybe some rumours about the baronkings , bolvyn venim style ?
or something that's either associated with atmora or the excavations at the ruins of Saarthal?

Thanks! What I did for the pit is a set of initially disabled collision
boxes, and I placed a large disabled fire at the top of the steps to
block them off. When the player has to fight they all get turned on,
and the player can't escape... It's not as crazy as it sounds. We will
need to use collision boxes anyway to stop high acrobatics players
simply jumping out.
Maybe getting the guards to attack is a better idea... IDK.
I also think I'll need to implement a holding cell, but I don't want to
add any more houses so I think I'll put it in a small cave, unless
anyone has any better ideas. |

A cave would work fine I think, or else you could scale the smallest house down to a shed size.

Look good, Al. The only thing I can think is that it needs more statues
Something as a focal point for the village anyway
