Perhaps you could have it set in perpetual twilight? Or, one of your
halves dawn, the other dusk? Although you may need two worldspaces for
that. A mountain range or wall with a tunnel or gate or something would
work to separate the worldspaces.

I also heardia was all a blur with beautiful scents...
perhaps a magical effect called 'Blur of Moonshadow' and it makes your
vision blurry most of the time but increases your personality amongst
other things to reflect how you become relaxed and awed by the
atmosphere |

I think your concept is indeed interesting. A little more research into
lore perhaps, or not, but the purpose of this post is not that.
I just wanted to throw out my idea, whether it is a good one or no, but
Moon and Star is very symbolic for Azura, and if it was the shape of
the landcape... Moon being dusk and star being dawn...

Shadow it will no longer be the colorfull lands described in the books
but it is colorless and now covered in the knights of the order. Azura

defeat of Jyggalag. |
People don't want another SI.
That's the only thing I can think of saying.

Though I must ask...what has this got to do with Thras? |
I don't know.
Apparently something to do with Thras:

Moonshadow, how Dwemer hate that word!
Well all I have with Moonshadow is armor that Azura Troopers have, if you want it for Thras it is already out in CORE1

Perhaps rather than starting some massive war between the two peoples,
the dissapearance of the worship stones is somehow gradually killing
the people/making them fade out of existence (as the MQ goes on you
could apply some sort of shader to NPCs to make them look like they are
no longer corporeal), or perhaps the presence of the stones was what
made the place like a paradise, but now with them gone it allows for
pestillence and misery to come into the realm? |
