Thats right people,
Many of you may think I am just a dictator with a whip sitting in my
high chair, but I do not just merely sit there, I do many a things. Now
the point of this thread is so that everyone may know what the current
plan for the Alpha is.
In Valenwood there are three islands off the coast, that is where we
will be demoing our new architecture/swords etc. It will be like our
very own Hearters Gap. There are a lot of things that we need to mergo
to our ESM, so we have plenty with what to fill these islands with. I
will be doing the main layout and placing.
I will need help with texturing and decorating the land, my idea of it
is making it all green with big trees, now you know why help is needed
As soon as I get the Heightmap I will have a test version for everyone.
Now you know,

Thanks Heywood. The thing is we have all the models we need, with
textures and collision. So we are wating on the heightmap. I'm checking
out some new models as we speak, some awe me, some I'm perplexed with

I could do a few interiors, I've never tried landscape editing, but I'm sure I could give it a go.

I never really did landscape for Morrowind, I once tried a big port city but stopped
But I did lots of hours in the Far Cry Sandbox editor and watched Qaz
making even more hours... So I got some experience thing is just school

*Thinks* You there, Arbiter, write books and make models.
Mormacil: That port town, would that by any chance be that port town you wanted to make in Valenwood?

No the Valenwood one is around a river. THe Morrowind one is huge. It's
located on a island with a mountain for Ebonymines. The port itself
would have been huge with a gigantic lighthouse. anyway, no not the
same.

As skyrim has most of its claims taken (there video made me go there) I
thought I may as well offer some help here. Elves and woods are my fav
characters and landscapes.
If there are any exteriors interiors for the alpha islands, you want me to do I will (as long as its not too many).
Also any texturing needed I will will do as long as its not too many items like doing 360 ayliad ruins!!

Well, there is something I want retextured for our Imperial city, it
should be under 360 items. The Bravil buildings I need retextured
(including their interiors). Would you like to do that for me?
And Exterior building will start soon, so I will look you up for it
because I am not so good at decorating exteriors (just all the
preliminary work like starting everything
). There wont be too many because I will do my part aswell, and try to get a hang of that item generator in the CS.
Thanks,

I presume you mean regions you preferably want one for the whole of
each island, the problem is if multiply people do it they willl all
have there own region, I suppose it doesn't reall matter its just
easier to modify weather and such with one!
|
The Bravil Architecture set, including interiors. I wanted a type of
Redwood texture. It's modified textured, because theres not much point
using the same texture on a building that laready uses it
I think thats it.
The islands will a have a generally tropical type of weather, maybe some Palm Trees, and of course big Valenwood trees.

I want it to be cleaned up a bit, and the general texture to be changed
to Redwood, but not only redwood, add some other textures that fit to
it.

Make sure the centre of the heightmap is right in the quads {(0, 0),
(0, -1), (-1, 0_, (-1, -1)} so that LOD can be generated.

This time around it's not me making the Heightmap. So I have no idea if it is centered or not, but so far it's working ok.

It seems that me and the Grey Wizard have gotten a bit caught up. But that means there is some very good news.
Not only will we have the heightmap by monday. But also a 1 mile high
tree that is half a mile wide. Yep, you guessed it, Falinesti

I've seen Speed Tree pictures, it looks great, but will not compare when looking up from the roots of the thing.

Methinks I do. I wonder how will you handle the sun and clouds?
Perhaps some kind of shader above to make it look like branch "atmosphere".
