In OB? The FG here was more concentrated on Story rather than missions like in MW.

WEll the West Empire Tradingcompany is well the financier of this
operation, but the Empire granted protection by sending a group of
soldiers with an officer, and with my lack of knowledge of ranks,
captain seems apropriate. Adn yeah he advices you about the military
part of your mission, while your tradingcompany buddy is more intrested
in logistic and the profit.

Heh, my Bosmer fanatics spit on your Imperial mission (from hiding) and
a very heavy branch suddenly breaks under its own weight and falls onto
the head of your Imperial Captain ...

ou can indeed go 2 ways, eitehr follow the captain, meaning a imperial
settlement will walls, towers and straigth roads, or you can listen to
your trading advisor guy and go a bosmer approach, talk to the locals,
learn from them etc.

Sounds like a strong set of choices. Much more fun that just build wothout choice
Any ideas for a third option? And what will be the consequences that we might build in for choosing one way or the other?

I think going the imperial-way makes you a bit infame? Since it's just
like the indians, screw the locals... On the other hand following the
bosmers might give you special treasure.

Hmm... I guess that trade and merchant quests would have the tendency
of becoming boring quickly. No matter how interesting you make them
they would still be fetch-this and fetch-that.
Hm..... industrial espionage anyone?

It's for 3-5 quests, can be made intresting if you need to track down a
travelling merchant for one, need to persuade 3 people for another.
Then you get the big quest

But what kind of big quests are possible for merchants anyway?
I'm more up for series of quests with great climax in the end.

It might be down to the way they are presented.
If you came out with a simplistic outline then it sounds like a
beginning Quest. And offering high level artifacts does not change that.
Is it true that without the prospect of achievement, loss and sacrifice we do not really get fully involved?
In Oblivion we have people entering this as absolute beginners, but
that is no longer true in an expansion. We do need simple stuff, but by
this time a 3-5 mission questlime is very simple by comparison with the
MQ that has alerady been completed... tasty fruit them questlimes.
What we will pick up on is the extra detail that we can include, even
in the simplest situations by ensuring that what we do is much more
than rote, while offering something that anyone can appreciate at any
level.

It's realistic that when you join the guild you have to prove yourself.
They don't have to be boring, but nor can they be important quests.

For one I'm thinking of convincing 3 guys to go with a deal. But you
need to track down at least one. He's somewere hunting or so.

Ok idea for a new guild, not joinable. It's an order of knights going
to VW to convince the headen Bosmer to convert to the Nine. Especially
the orcs like the ladies in VW

I've had this idea floating around for a while.
Patches of dead woodlands keep springing up in the forests north of
Elden Root. It seem like every so often, a section of the
forest...about 50 yards or so, simply dies. The life of the forest
seems to be being depleted by some sort of dark force.
The player could do some investigation and exploration and disover that
deep in the forest, a lich or...some kind of dark wizard is using
Necromancy to literally suck the life out of the forest, and into
himself...attempting to aciheve immortallity. The player would have to
hunt down this wizard/lich, and find a way to put a stop to his plot.
Perhaps find a way to meddle with his life-stealing ritual so that when
he performs it, he sucks the life out of himself, and into a black soul
gem...or some sort of scroll that would allow the player to summon his
spirit in battle.

That, and your new rank, really scares me.
But how would he hide from the sun? I think trees would rot and wither,
cracks would open and stuff..... but then again these aren't really
normal trees. Perhaps infused with blood to make the tree stronger
(Lore conflicts, I know).

It's an old idea already discussed somewhere down this topic
The corrupted enviroment becomes hostile like plants on plains of Oblivion
Just not the same though, more junglelike etc.

Yeah I understand that, but perhaps the idea which I mentioned could be used to demonstrate vampires vile nature.

Dylan: I think Mormacil posted an idea about that somewhere, where this
great fat vile creature sucks the life out of trees. But hey, great
minds think alike

Wow, really?
Hm, perhaps I skimmed over it once, and that's why the idea suddenly popped into my head.
Either that, or I'm telepathic.

New idea for a MQ
The Humming Pants, yes indeed a pair of cursed pants. From the moment
the player equips them he can't take them of. While beeing worn the
pants humms without a break.
To break the curse the player needs to complete some sort of quest, I'm not sure what yet
But I do love the pants.
