Well just as I made a thread about quests, this one is about special
people and places. If you got an idea for a little easter egg, etc,
place them here. Think of things as creeper, the orc house with bones
in the fireplaces. CHest Nut stables with no horses, M'Qar the liar etc.
I'll start
-House, owned by 3 orcs with a bosmer harem
-The family of Fargoth, thinking he's a great merchant and a powerfull man in Vvardenvell.

Hyppogryph farms, I done a very bad sketch some time ago, basically
it's a stone (slaughter)house with a big and a small meadow for the
hyppogryphs. See it as a pigfarm. These H-farms acan be found in the
north and east, closer to Elsewyr and Cyrodill.

awwww, well should be pretty cool seeing them like that anyway tis a very nice concept.
Perhaps we could have a wild, bigger beastie variant at some point in the future.

You see it's perfect cattle?
Yeah a somewhat wilder variant isn't a bad idea. But what do you think of my Hyppogryph farm?

Yeh sounds good, I can picture those guys grazing in a meadow somewhere..awaiting the abattoir!
Would bring a lot of character to farms etc in VW.

Ok I got 2 places this time. Damn I can't get 2 headlines I just read out of my head. First one is Elder woman sells drugs to kids second one is Belgium dograpist goes free. I mean wtf... You must love the world now days, anyway back on topic.
First place I came up with. I got this idea last night, spend whole day
remembering what it was. It's some sort of Oblivion Plane. It's either
for Y'ffre or Sheogorath. It's a place without any real logic/order.
It's a forest area (Cyrodill style trees e.g.) The small ponds and
lakes are made lava, so the shore is some rock. Further you got
floating rocks. On the bigger ones you got trees growing. Above the
lava you'll get steam, from the steam I want a waterfall to go upwards
into rocks floating above it. I think we cna up with some more things
as well. This place I think will be best questrelated, maybe MQ.
Second place I came up with it a small bay almost hidden between
cliffs. It's rocky and very small. At the end you got a small
waterfall. Near the opening you got a few meters beach, really small.
On it you'll find mudcrabs and a skeleton with next to it a journal. In
the journal you read how this guys ship was wrecked in a storm and he
woke up here, lost. He survived for a long time, he could swim to the
waterfall for some water and he could kill mudcrabs with his saber and
eat them. Only after time, his saber became blunt. At some point you
read he coul'd kill the mudcrabs anymore, he could just bash them with
his blade. Then you read how they finally wound him and he gets a fever
and the mudcrabs get closer while he gets weaker, then you'll find some
blood on the last page, then nothing
Next to the skeleton you also find a broken saber. If you swim around the bay you maybe find the skeletons ship?

Wow, you're full of these things ey Morm? I don't think Y'ffre is a
Deadra, but Sheogorath sounds like a good candidate to own this place.
I've got a pretty clear image of it, but why only associate it with the
MQ? Wouldn't it be great to have amazing ideas that have nothing to do
with the MQ?

At least a big questline I think. I mean it's a pretty big place and
you'll need a portal to get there. So that requires either great magic
or a daedraprince

Wow that the lava and trees and floating rocks thingy sounds really
cool. A quest would be good since it is so interesting and unique a
quest.

Hmm, fairylights... moving lights taht fly very fast, like mini
willowisps, but not aggresive. Purple ones. That could be fun, moving
from tree to tree. Maybe a slightly purple skybox, just not real blue
anymore. Increase the feeling that something isn't right. Maybe an
oversized cave entrance, really a big open mouth...

Ok another place:
One town should have this huge, huge market area. Trees are used to
make stalls/tents with ropes and hides. The richer merchants have
bodyguards. You relly should be able get everything there. This city
should be either at the Cyrodill border or at the sea.

sounds like a good port city, I read that Bosmer are fascinated with
human imports - carvings etc so it would be fun to have a multicultural
hustle and bustle market place.

I love that idea. Since you say all sort of races could be found there,
we could make this market into the city Haven, since it sounds like
what it may be. That market sounds like my dream place though

I have absolutely no doubt that a city like that would have fine FPS,
no doubt in my mind. FPS works cell by cell on the computer (while on
the 360 it's the whole world, hence world spaces, yes it was mostly for
the 360, but also for RAI). It matters about how many triangles/polies
in a cell, 250K is the limit we should be having. The trees in the
densest part of Arenthia are only 100-140K.

Its not the polygons of the environment so much as the polygons of the NPC's and the AI that I'm worried about.

Ahh I see. There wont be too many in one place at a time. RAI for this
would be pretty simple, and purely cosmetic me thinks.

As long as there aren't too many people it should be fine. Its just
that npcs can really up the polygon count and cause the game to
stutter.

That might be handled by the structure of the market - if there are
loads of small twisty alleys then you might see only so many NPCs at a
time ?

It was designed to be created by bosmer using trees and tents. But we can try to plsit it up in different cells.

another intresting place:
A big ship in the top of a group of trees. How it got there?
1) Dwemer Flying ship like in Solstheim
2) A flood dropped it their, trees might have pushed it up
3) Weird bosmer thinks the world is omming through an end by a huge
flood and build himself a boat, in time the trees have grown and he
couldn't move the boat.
Now, when the player finds it, it's used as a house. Might want it to be a bandit den.

Ok another unique place. A cloister (by Imperials?) dedicated to the
god that's know by the Bosmer as the god of currency e.g., I forgot his
name
Anyway, it's a nice cloister in the woods. It's build like a square
with a big courtyard, all along the side/walls there little shops ran
by the monks. They're great merchants and have a large selection fo
goods for trade.
Some sell books, or potions, or spells or weaponry, armor, clothing, enchanted items, ingredients etc. etc.
I imaging the monks to wear a brown robe and a hood. Not sure if there any nuns, I guess not

Great responce on my last idea. Anyway I got a new idea. Since
Prometheus posted some desert pics on ESF, I've been thinking. So far I
got a nice idea. As a change from lore and especially forests, I say we
include another plain of Oblivion or a dream. The world is a desert
(suprice!
) Anyway, I think the player wakes up in a small village. People aren't
very nice, mostly Dunmer I think, they fit very well. As workers you
got either a new race of Nord like people, or (modified) Meat
Atronaches. We could also make them mountable
Besides beeing mounts they're used for the little farming there is, possible by irrigration.
From there the player has to find his way out/pleasing the Prince.
Perhaps he has to find a cave and defeat an enemy. An old wizard? To
make it a real challange we add sandstorms that damage the player

When we got 3 finished cities I think the team will grow. And how can there be something like to many ideas?
Anyway I like some diversity in my quests.
