Ok this is a list of things I need to do in the hope to increase activity for this project.
1) Design the new armor system. I can use your help with that. The idea is to write them all down. So far I got:
- Paladin (Big knights need big shiny armor) Heavy
- Ranger (A hood, leather and green camoflage, what else?) Light
- Assasin (Dark, black, a mask. For our lightfearing types) Light
- Pelgrim/Rogue (Both play on personality and don't care for big armor.
Think of some plate armor for the lowerlegs, a light cuirass. It
doesn't need to look like real armor) Light
- Monk/Priest (An armored Robe I think, imaging a warrior monk) Light
- Spellsword (heavy armor mixed with mobility for swordcombat. It's heavy but not incredibly bilky like Paladin) Heavy
Of course this aren't all the armor, we still got non upgradable armor, like guards, Igma, Khajiit etc.
2) Sketch all towns/Village I can think of. It's not a final design but
a help to all the modders and gives some towns a more memorable look I
hope.
3) Organise the armor contest. Every two or three weeks I want to post
some sort of contest. I post one of the designs of the armor listed
above with a discribtion and maybe a sketch or two. The best are then
used to make the models of.
So all help is usefull

A good list though I think it is equally important for us to get some
clothing conceptualised, my exams have finished now so hopefully I can
spend a bit more time with the mod.
I recently played through the mages guild questline and noticed how
intimitading a necromancer with a hood can be, I know it sounds simple
but being approahced by a sharp faced hooded ranger in the woods could
be quite the unique experience.

Sounds good
Is our main goal creating Arenthia and the external cells around it
now? The last I heard was that the exterior redwood models had been
finished. The last I saw was in the alpha were we had a very (sketchy)
Arenthia built.

FLESH is gone. His vision for Arenthia is not finished. The mod
shouldn't stagnate as a result, choose another starting point or
rebuild arenthia, but at least do somethng! If you have modders who are
asking for work, then I say give it to them.

Well first we need to get the models back, then we could do some stuff,
also do we have a heightmap? If so we could make a small village or
something, also why did FLESH leave without so much as a good bye?
Perhaps FLESH left some sort of info on where the models went, I also
know some other people downloaded the island stuff so you could PM or
email them about sending the stuff. I could do some of it, I just
recently made a whole forest retex to match the tropic look, the grass
textures I have resemble the island mods so I am happy

Do you think we should start on constructing other areas then? Like
Northern Valenwood where the differences in architecture might not be
so different than cyrodill? (thus requiring less new models). I feel we
should be doing something at the very least.
We have quite a few Arenthian interiors and I still have one or two
claims there unfinished but my motivation for finishing them is
definitley waning considering there seems to be no town to put them in.
I'd gladly start making new interiors and have a shot at some exteriors if we have a heightmap to hand.

Well today I started sketching on a small settlement for the North of
Valenwood. It can mostly use a Bravil retexture with maybe a few new
models (wall etc, all Bravil style). I think I got it finished
tomorrow. After that we need a place to put it and then we can set a
claim up

Hey everyone hows it going, I just thought I would chip in. Its a shame
FLESH left without much information why but we have got to carry on.
The islands i'm doing are coming along great. All thats left is the
final plant placing of the large island. The quests, interiors and
NPC's I have a lot of building's which need interiors if anyone is
interested. Also a couple of caves need to be done.
I spent the last few days trying to do this using the region
editor. The reason was that if I can get a well made one done then I
could create hundreds of cells of jungle on the main land. If done
right the editor can automatically add the ground texture (Beach (at
correct height), forest (random varities), nongrass version under rocks
etc), all plants, trees, beach/ jungle/ coral rocks, palms etc. All
with random scales are positions (rotation). Havn't tried but maybe
even respawns!!
The problem is I've never made one before and they are hard to get
right. If anyone has any experience then we could have a massive area
of lush jungle with creatures etc. Towns are villiages can then be
added to this jungle by hand.
Personally I think this is our best option, one could be done for the
north also. As Valenwood is mainly untouched forest we could do most of
the landmass with well done regions. We need to map out what regions
are going to be where so they can be correctly planned this should
include plant types and drawings (Mormacil).
An idea could be that visitors are no longer alowed to visit Valenwood
(not sure how this would work for a Bosmer character). The right could
them be earnt on the islands, alowing the boat to take them to the
jungle region on the south of valenwood?! While the teasor is out (with
earning quests) we could be doing the south of the landmass? Just a
thought really ^
I have also uploaded some more screens on the islands thread. There are
some more to come but it only allows me to upload 7 with a 60 min post
gap!!!!
Also i'm not sure how many resources FLESH had, I did the Arethia
retexures so they should be somewhere. Also wont a version of Arethia
be posted here, although I do agree that the latest would be best.

Awesome stuff
I'm up for doing some interiors for the islands a.s.a.p. Your idea
about leading the player from the islands to the southern coast sounds
good to me too, sounds a lot of work but be great if we could pull it
off.

If you check the first topic I already got permission to use his stuff
Back to the Southern region of Valenwood. I think it's great we first
finish the south of Valenwood, along the coast. This makes it easier to
expend VW, we just add more land, no real gaps between areas. Further
we can start on a couple of things I've been looking forward too
namely the last of the Aldmeri Dominion, the Botanic Garden and the pirates.
We do need some more jungle plants. I try to draw some when I got time
but I got exams currently and a lot of deadlines and my internet is
even more broken since this morning.... Now on another PC
I "fixed" my internet first by accessing the internet through a
notebook but now the notebook has no connection either >.<
Although I dislike the idea of some sort of off limit to the deeper
mainland a reason might be the rumors of a Wild Hunt.... Not sure but
just a thought.
FLESH did stop by few weeks ago but nothing since still no replies on PM's nor seen him on MSN.

Durdain I would love you to do some more interiors, the boat one you
did is amazing. I will add some more claims to the interior section
soon + post an updated .esm as the links have broken now.
Those weapons look amazing, well done Mormacill for getting permision.
I will be able to model some more simple jungle plants, finding the textures are quite hard though.
The off limit thing was only an idea, doesn't have to be followed.

I will ask JKJ if she has some spare mushroom concepts (she does plant
technical drawing professionally and is a mushroom research specialist)
that are excess to Elsweyr requirements.

As this is a To Do List I thought I would put some important things down:
1. PR - the thread needs to be kept running (i cant do everything).
Topics posted in other forums apart from ESF (qarls forum?). Just
general advertising. Anyone interested?
2. Animal Retexuring - As we are not going to get any cutom creatures
anytime soon we need to do some retextures. A good texture can really
change the appearance of of an animal. Anyone interested?
Heres an examples of one I can use:
http://members.iinet.com.au/~amills/MM22-jungle%20tiger.jpg
Another is Renekins Tropical Spider.
3. Resource collection - Any plants/ weapons/ armor/ textures found
(morrowind or Oblivion) should be posted with information and links.
Permission should also be asked. This does seem to be taking place at
the present.
4. Island Quests - Ideas are needed and voluteers to write the scripts.
5. Interiors - I will keep a steady supply once I have decided what is going where.
Probably much more but if all that is done than this mod will be much better in terms of progress.

I've just been playing with the region editor myself. If we get all the
tree and plant models and we get landscape textures I would love to
play around and see what sort of results I can get from the CS.

Well we pretty much have enough, trees rocks and plants for the jungle
region. I started a region but i'm far from finished (the sink,
rotation, parent radius stuff is all not complete). You could still try
if you wish. If not we need to wait for someone who knows the Valenwood lore well to split the map into regions with plant details.
OM - I have added details for the shop in the claims section

I did see your sketch, a better one would be great. It could then be put onto the heightmap (including cells)

Thats great, let me first update the valenwoodislands.esm (added more
trees) and ill send you the region .esp I started. Should be before
wednesday. Once you have a perfect working region then I will merge all
to the normal heightmap ready for generation (when mormacil finishes
his region map

Phew! Hey everyone. Glad to see you have kept faith in me. I have to
say these have been the most hectic months of my life. I am planning on
moving, I had my exams, on which a lot was relying on, and to top it
all of I've had no internet connection for two weeks (my exams finished
two weeks ago, and lasted for one, but I have been studying 24/7), yes
I know, I did abandon my leadership duties but that is why I needed a
Co-Leader, I'm glad Valenwood was not left in my absence.
Mormacil I have many contacts to this mod that I need to give you
aswell (something I should've done a while ago), since I wasn't able to
keep talking to them. a lot of problems could've been avoided if I had,
and I'm sorry I didn't. *sigh* With good news there is also bad. In two
weeks time I am going on holidays (for 2 weeks) then I come back for 1
week, and leave for Ukraine for the remaining summer, where I will have
no computer access at all, and after that it's straight back to
education.
a lot of things need to be sorted, and I hope we can do so before I leave.
