Cool Islands Taster Release v0.1 Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       Go to the top of this page

Aright guys I thought I would give you a taster of the islands Cool This is a merge of all which is complete for you to have a play with!!

Look Here for screens:

The Southern Islands! New Thread.

For it to work you will need to download the .esm and the files from here:
Valenwood Islands ESM 1.1
(It will then be easy for you to do an interior Wink )

To get to the islands type in the console "coc vis01"

I know there are a few issues:
Billboards
LOD
Boat collisions <- end up on roof
Floaters
Underwater is murky without Phinix
Some incorrect texture paths <- didn't notice until now.
Sound regions are to small
More but I cant remember

Credit:
Starcon - Sextant Model and Textures
Brillo - For the Models (Morrowind)
Razorwing - For converting the models for use in oblivion

Durdain - Ship Interior and a Book
OblivionMon for the House

Renzekin - for the Spider Rextex
Lore Creatures team for Spider Model
Sloth for the tiger Rextex

Mormacil - for keeping Valenwood going.

I'm sure I've missed some ppl ^

Enjoy and please help,
Tom

Few visual bugs, but could also be mod related(Natural Enviroments). Models could use an update to OB graphics but everall it rules! :D

What are the visual bugs? Which models in particular? The problem is even though i'm getting better at blender I still cant do anything remotly complicated. You could try improving them, as long at the dimensions are the same they can just be replaced. Your pretty good at modelling now right?

I'm decent with modelling. I think I should be able to improve some :) Most visual bugs are weird leaves that float in the air.

Nothing major but just annoying. Also the cave is awfully light and goblins are just sad. I killed all of them with one hit. On the other hand, it suits them. Tongue Btw the boat is awesome :D

That would be amazing if you could do that :) The textures are also quite weirdly done ie wood and wall are in the same file.

Yer that tree is weird but the same happerns in the vanilla version of it. Its just a retexture of the branch/trunk and a recolour of the leaves.

The cave sucks I just did it as a tester and I would prefer a more unique creature than the goblins. Just put them in because I could!!

Yer the boat is neat, Durdain did an amazing job at the interior!!

I'm itching to play it, the screens and vid look great. I'm thinking about shifting my Oblivion capable PC into the conservatory, if it overheats in here I've no idea what I'll do but we'll see.

Hopefully the thread will get a few more peeps down onto the forum to help us out. Rocking Banana

No not really, I'm just catching my breath after 1,5 week of long nights and little sleep. Last 3 days have been some school and gaming mostly. I'll look into it later.

those floating leaves would look great if they were attached to branches = coastal environment - salt water / brine can create strange trees ... first step to a swamp environ.
