I also have a lot of characters, but that changes little for me.

You have to be the champion of Cyrodiil for the Skyrim MQ to work and you have to end the threat from Oblivion for the Skyrim MQ to work (common sense). You can play the MQ fully, half-way, skip it fully or play it half-way and skip it. The only thing you can't do is play the OB MQ to a point, play the Skyrim MQ, and then get back to the OB MQ.

This mod follows two things as best it can, lore and common sense, and having a daedric army stomping trough Skyrim while you deal with another undead army clearly violates common sense.
The only reason the player is "invited" into Skyrim is because he is the famous champion of Cyrodiil and has a chance of helping Skyrim with it's own problems, not because he saved Cyrodiil only half-way.
Why would an anonymous person be invited to come to Riften by the Baron-King?

Having to complete the OB MQ patches up a lot of holes in the thin fabric that is logic, those who have played it and don't want to go trough it again can skip it.

So if we do it your way, TOYB, everyone will be happy except for the people who value the immersion that TES games offer, situations that contradict common sense ruin immersion BIG TIME.

How is it that I forgot to comment on the third part of the MQ?! Eek 1 Well I'll use this post then to say that I'm amazed by how skillfully written it all is and that it will be insanely fun to play. One of the ideas I really like is the two undead armies doing battle in/around Riverwood at night. Yes

I'd like to note that whatever comes next in the story line should be compatible with the quest TOYB wrote for the Witch-Queen as it is a cool quest.

Btw, is White Hold the Hold where the next chapter of the MQ will play out? If it is what Hold does the MQ take you to after that... Eastmarch perhaps?

It will take place in White Hold, but a little bit will take place in the Pale at first.

4. The Treachery of Whitehold
Background info:
White Hold is located in the very center of Skyrim. Key landmarks such as the Throat of the World and High Hrothgar can be found in Whitehold. The towns of Black Moor and Laintar Dale are found within Whitehold, and Whiterun is the capital. The Hold is currently ruled by Jsashe, a tyrannical Witch Queen-- also of note, it controls Pale. Lastly, the city of Whiterun is home to Braelor God-foe and his Knights of the White Wolf. Of late there has been a great deal of conflict between Jsashe and Godfoe.

1. The Princess
Due to your aid to the people of the Pale, you have gained quite a deal of prestige and are the equivalent of a rock star (all the lovely Nord ladies throw their panties at you when you walk through Nimalten City :D ). The next time you go to sleep, you are awakened by a cloaked man garbed in strange leather armor. The man hands you a note, saying only “I deliver this on behalf of my ladyship, the princess”, then leaves. On the note is scrawled: If you love the Pale, come to the giant oak outside of Oakwood at sundown, all will be explained.

The Player follows the instructions and heads to the old oak at sundown. There you are met by 2 more cloaked men in the strange leather armor, a menacing looking ranger, and a beautiful young woman wearing a crown of flowers and garbed in a simple white dress. As you approach the Ranger speaks. He explains to you that the woman with the crown of flowers is Fiala, the direct descendant of an ancient king of the Pale, who lived in the first era, when the Hold was FREE! Friala now leads a resistance movement, bent on overthrowing the tyranny of Whitehold and restoring her to her rightful place as Queen of the Pale. He is her general, protector, mentor, and advisor. Fiala then speaks to you. She asks for your aid in combating Whitehold, as you are a famous warrior, and respected throughout Skyrim.

If you agree to support her, she will lead you back to the rebel camp (either an underground complex, or a Sherwood-esque base concealed deep within the woods (only enterable after you’ve met the princess, otherwise its blocked by collision boxes)-- all ideas are welcome). After traveling to the base, she asks you to deliver letters to the Chieftains of the various settlements of the Pale, asking them for their aid, and then lastly travel to the Rift to ask King Adlemund for support. After receiving the quest, Seriene informs you that she has just received word from her “employer” and cannot play mailman with you-- she’ll be back waiting for you when you return from speaking with King Adlemund. All the Chieftains pledge their support, though they are fearful, they have faith that the Champion of Cyrodiil and this mysterious princess will lead them to victory.

You then make a quick trip back to Riften and pop in to see good ol’ Adlemund. No matter what you try though, Adlemund cannot be convinced to formally enter the conflict and launch a strike against the Witch Queen. He tells you however that if you and these rebels can defeat the troops of Whiterun in battle-- widely considered as the most formidable military force in Skyrim, he will pledge every available man. As you exit the castle, Vald runs up to you. He’s heard about your escapades across the border in the Pale, and senses the coming conflict with Whitehold. He hopes he’ll have a chance to get in a few knocks against those renegade bastards, the Knights of the White Wolf (Vald will now follow you wherever you go, be it Skyrim, Cyrodiil, or beyond).

2. D.I.D. (Damsel in Distress)
Upon returning to the rebel base you are informed by the Ranger-General that they had a traitor in their midst who sold the princess out to the Knights of the White Wolf. She was ambushed on the road from Oakwood to Nimalten City. The traitor however was captured, and the princesses’ location was tortured out of him (a small fort a short distance from Whiterun, where the princess is being held until she is brought before the Witch-Queen), after the location was extracted from him, the Ranger-General became annoyed with the man’s stories about how he was forced into it by the Knights, and that he had no choice, however a very large pouch of gold was in the man’s possession when the rebels caught up with, so basically the Ranger-General decides to torture the fellow to death and hang his corpse in the center of the camp as an example to anyone else that might consider betraying the cause-- it really makes some nice decoration though, its that final touch that makes the house a home Wink On a side note, Seriene has yet to return from her “mission”.

The Ranger-General tells you they must move immediately if they hope to rescue the princess before she is moved to the Palace in Whitehold. He leads you to the fort along with 2 other rebel soldiers. On the road just before you reach the fort you meet back up with Seriene, who explains her “business” has been taken care of, but also warns you to be on guard, something big is about to happen…

You and your companions arrive at the fort and mop up the courtyard. Once that is done the Ranger-General informs you he and his men will stay outside and watch to make sure nobody else attacks from the rear. You and any companions you may have go hack your way through the fort, its not very big, and relatively straightforward, just a matter of getting in, grabbing the princess, and getting out. When you exit though, the Ranger and his men are nowhere to be found.

3. Double-U-Teh-Eff!
As much as you search, you cannot find your allies, so eventually you resolve to head out. The trip is uneventful, but right before you and the princess exit Whitehold, you are overtaken by several Knights of the White Wolf. They are led by none-other than the Jarl Braelor God-foe himself. He reads off a long-list of your “crimes”, explaining that the penalty is death. He then says that when he got wind of what was happening, he had to investigate the situation himself. God-foe waves to one of his men, who brings out your 3 missing companions. He then proceeds to explain that all of you will be executed on the spot-- unless you allow he and his knights to aid you in the coming conflict against the Witch Queen!

You and your friends are completely flabbergasted, none of you can say a word, but you don’t have to. Braelor rambles on about his reasons for looking to aid you. In short, he’s had it with being the Jsashe’s pawn, and he believes she sent the knights to that vampire nest in the mountains knowing that they would be wiped out. He is out for revenge, but not just that-- he seeks to kill her and name himself Thane of Whitehold. Now all of this up to the Thane part is acceptable to you and your allies-- a Thane is a warlord-King, or a Baron-King who controls more than 1 hold, that implies that Braelor will not free the Pale, but rather keep it under Whiterun’s rule. You realize you have no choice, but to accept his terms, odds are he will be a better ruler than Jsashe, and the princess is confidant that as the Champion of Cyrodiil you will be able to reason with Braelor when the time is right.

Alright, here is a little bit of part 4 of the MQ, its only half-way done (Part 4), but I figured I would post it up to provoke discussion on the MQ anyway. I was looking back through the rest of the thread, and literally every post was squabbling about whether you had to beat OB or not to play Skyrim. I figure we need to talk about something else :D

Anyway I just typed this bit up tonight, I don't like it all that much, personally I think it's complete crap compared to the previous parts, so any feedback is welcome.

It's good! :D

For the rebel base I suggest using a ruined fort (a fort that belonged to the ancient king of the Pale or whatever). The exterior would be that of a ruined fort as well as the interior to some extent. I was thinking that the ruined fort interior would end as a huge cavern full of houses, very much like the dungeon in the Mehrunes Razor plug-in actually. Of course the fort exterior could still be located in the middle of a forest.

If we choose to do it like this then all we need to do is lock the entrance to the fort until the player gets to that part of the quest.

Well thanks for the feedback guys, glad you don't think its complete crap. Anyway I'm not sure I love the idea of a fort, maybe just a big cave? But w/e, we'll see what other people think.

By the way Krisi, was Reman originally from Skyrim like Tiber Septim was? Would it work for the princess to be descended from Reman (know he wasn't 1st era, like I said the princess' ancestor was, but I could always tweak that)-- I just ask because if she could be descended from Reman that's great because it's a name people know.

BTW any feedback you've got for my threads on the two Orders?
