It compresses files much better than any other zip program, and it's freeware, so it doesn't have the annoying nagboxes of WinZip. It can be downloaded from 7-zip.org. Boot it up and browse to the model folder you want to zip. Select it and click the green "Add" button. Word Size should be 255, while you have to adjust the Dictionary size to how much RAM your comp has. The higher the Dictionary size, the better compression. Below is a screencap of the settings I use personally, where I've adjusted the Dictionary size to fit with my 1 gig of ram.

Quote:Originally posted by Dairon Thanks, the renders looks mighty fine with the bump map! I don't understand the texturing techniques you employ in the models, and for some reason I had problems selecting the meshes. But I did a quick export to .3ds and re-imported them and then it worked. Possibly it's related to different versions of Max? I've got v8.0. Question is... since exteriors and interiors are separate in the game, a player can't look inside a window and see what's in there, so how to hide it from him without showing the wall texture of the structure the window is fitted on? Hmm... I wonder how Bethesda solved that one this time around.

Those are reaally cool! But why is the topic called Bard's song when you post models in it. Nevermind. Nice models.
If you can't get someone out of your head maybe they're supposed to be there.

Razorwing: 'had problems selecting the meshes..'
That's a good one!! I think we can solve this problem, perhaps We can make wall just for this window, with hole on it (boolean); Or We can make one part of wall which will be beveled and is same kind of 'frame' for window'; Hope you understand horodnicdragos: You don't like J. R. R. Tolkien?

Razorwing: Here is the thing. That extruded part of wall and window are one.
Thank you all on encouragements, I'll be absent for some time; Some time.. Few weeks or month.. I'll be working on that Silgrad tower; Razorb made great picture, that will be my guide. Hope I helped you.

Dairon: It looks mighty fine
Yes I had problems selecting the meshes, no matter what I did I couldn't "grab" them in Max. Exporting to .3ds and re-importing fixed that. Thanks for volounteering to model the Tower of Silgrad! However Hoss is already working on it (dev thread). But the stoneflower you're working on is shaping up very nicely and it would be great if you continued to develop that, and perhaps other flora after that? Another thing that would be highly useful is kwama egg patches
