Bittergreen Plant [wip]
I've been thinking about recreating the bittergreen plant from TES3. Two things have held me back from doing it before - well, three things if you count no-one requesting it The other two things are lack of good textures, which I'm sure I can solve if I put my mind to it, and an uncertainty about how to create it.
As you may recall Bittergreen plants in Morrowind were assembled manually, starting with settling a pod into the ground and then placing vines coming out of it. That won't work well with Oblivion's system of generating objects, so if I went with that solution alone then it would mean a bit of work for the modders who'd like to use it. I could make a number of fused, single-model varieties that would work well with the generation system but they would lack the interestingness Bittergreen plants had in TES3. Or I could make both, which many would think would be the obvious way to go - but would the bittergreen plants be generated enough that the fused models would be worthwhile, or would they be assembled manually often enough that the plant parts would be useful? Also, in which regions do you guys think we should use the bittergreen plants?

I think the Silgrad Hills would be a good place if sandor wants them there.
It's a tricky question about the model. Maybe your idea of doing both would be best - starting with the individual pieces then fusing them for a quick single model. We could play around with them and see what works best... |

I think it would be nice to have this plant or its petals, but keep in mind the Bittergreen Plant grows in the Red Mountain Region and in West Gash Region, it is not found in most places outside of Vvardenfell. Enjoy Bob

I can see the Silgrad Hills region being similar to the West Gash, so that will probably be the only region. I don't think the Bittergreen plant grew in the Red Mountain region, but I could be wrong.
Where does it say there aren't many places outside of Vvardenfell where Bittergreen grows? |

I agree that Red Mountain seems like a wierd place for them but thats were they be hrug: more in West Gash Thier is no specific statement "they only grow in Vvardenfell" Didn't mean to confuse Only that they are abundent in the West Gash Region Enjoy Diet Bob
