Dwemer mishap
I always assumed there would be Dwemer ruins in Oblivion because the Dwemer have been in both Arena and Daggerfall as well as of course in Morrowind, and that if we wanted to mod those kinds of locations we wouldn't have to worry about modelling it ourselves. Guess I was wrong, as Gavin Carter notes in the new Gaming Vision interview, posted today:
Quote:The Dwemer storyline does not factor into Oblivion in any major way. However, you will come across some Dwemer artifacts in the form of weapons and armor during your adventures. Any ideas? Has anyone seen any modelled dwemer stuff in TES3 mods we could maybe use? Or maybe someone even feels up to taking on a modelling task like that?

I don't see that his comments really mean no Dwemer ruins. If you take the guy the Puzzle Cube and Dwemer with Corpus out of TESIII it really doesn't have much to do with the Dwemer mystery either, yet there are plenty of ruins to explore. In Oblivion's screenshots, there's that guy with golden armor and an axe that I can only assume is Dwemer and the Dev guy said that armor and weapons would be there. It is possible that you find it on rich bandits and in caves, but I wouldn't be surprised to find a few ruins, maybe not as many as in Morrowind, but a few nevertheless. Don't freak out about it yet; wait and see. There's only one week until we can know for sure.

I don't think they would have said outright that the player could (just) get some Dwemer armor and weapons if they had crafted a whole culture around them like they did in TES3. Bethesda probably made Ayelid ruins instead.

yea, I think Dwemer ruins are out....
I mean, the Dwemer lived mostly in Morrowind (particularly Vvardenfell) and in Hammerfell... so we can make them! yay! ...now I have to learn how |

1 or a 100 would mean the same thing in terms of the assets being in the Construction Set at launch or not =)

Presumably that 1 or 100 means that Dwemer Lizard gets to have Dwemer adventures in ST! because we can mod them in if we so desire!

I would be willing to make some dwemer extiriors if the need arises, they sure as hell would be easier than redoran! Sheesh some of those are nuts.

Anything except Telvani should be a pleasant jaunt in the park compared to doing Redoran architecture.
