Thank you very much! I am having so much fun messing around with this, though I've spent quite a lot of time on it. Also, welcome to the greatest community ever! -NR |

Thank you, so far everyone has been very nice and welcoming, and I look forward to continuing to visit these forums. I can see how you have a lot of fun, you are very talented and modeling (not that I would really know). I love the minute details on the hilt, it looks amazing.

Thanks again!
Here are two more screenies. I'm not too fond of the new "s" shape that I have on the ends of the crossguard. I'm definately going to change it. |

Looking great NR! :goodjob:
Did you show your model to that ladyfirari who drew it? I bet she would think it to be really cool to see her drawing come alive like that! Hmm... who knows, maybe she hung on to some earlier sketches of it that could be used as bookart? So we could have a book that tells about the legend surrounding it, enticing the player to go on a quest to find the real-live sword? I think that would make the setup around your sword even more fun for players, as well as being a natural way of advertising the quest to the player. But if it doesn't work out, we still have an excellent sword

That S does seem a little out of place, simply because it seems to curve a bit more in contrast wth the rest of the designs on the sword. I think a few more fine details near it and perhaps another hole near the edge of the crossgaurds would look good, but it certainly dosnt need anymore. That second picture with the lighting effects is amazing, it really shows how slender and sleek the blade would be, as well as brings out the minute details on the hilt and crossguard.

I haven't shown her yet, but I will as soon as I get closer to finishing it. In the description, she said her friend drew it though. I'm not sure about the legend. I think I'll let somebody else come up with that, but maybe she could supply us with some sketches of it. syko: I took the four S's that I had and combined them to make two. It looks much better in my opinion. You're right about it contrasting a bit, but I wanted it to fit the original drawing as much as I could. I may try something else with it. I kind of like it now. I'll do a little more work on it later and post some more pictures. I want to add a reflective map or something to the blade, I think that may be pretty cool. -NR |

A reflective map would certainly be very cool. I cant wait to see the finished product. And, if I may suggest a name for this sword, which should certainly be legendary, how about Remorse? Not only does it pay homage to you, but it also sounds like a powerful blade. Just a thought. =)

Nothing like fighting with a guilty blade.
I'll have to play around a while to get the maps to work right, I haven't done much in the way of them, nor have I had any success when I have. |
