Help with Distant LODs

I hope this is the right forum for this. All the forums that this thread would seem to fit more are locked to me. I'm cross posting this here since the thread at TES forum isn't getting much traffic.

I've created a new exterior world and put an island in it. On one side of the island was White Gold Tower, the other, a Priory.
Even though I deleted White Gold Tower, it still shows from the Priory. If I go to it, it disappears, but the Priory doesn't show up at distance (I've checked show in distance).
I also have some trees that I've deleted that are still showing up from a distance.

Another problem I have is with the door that leads back to Tamriel. I moved the door and its marker to a different location. When you teleport to the word, you show up where I want, but the door itself is still in the original location.

And in an unrelated area, I tried to add a door that leads to a companion barracks in Dimensional Pocket. The door in the hub world doesn't show up. When I COC to the barracks and use the door there, I fall into the water below the hub.

Just remembered another problem. I've tried using CM Partners to create a companion using the custom race Cute Elf. Companions I make for original races work fine, but for a Cute Elf companion, when I enter the cell it is, the game crashes.

Halp plx.

I don't know what caused the garbled distant land LOD in the first place, but it's stopped. I must have messed something up somewhere. I redid the whole distant land procedure and now it looks like it did. Still looking for some halp on those other things though...

EDIT: And now I load it up just to check something unrelated out, and my distant land is now not only garbled again, but rainbow textured. WTF

At first, modding for this game was really fun, but now it's just getting tiresome. Every time I load it up some new random problem has sprung up. How do you people deal with this?
