Update:
Began work on the skirt. It's not difficult, just time consuming so you'll see pics sometime this week end. I'd say the cuirass is about 50% complete and gaining momentum. For Kodama: Are the lames on the skirt the same length as the lames on the Do? Or are they a different lentgh entirely or does it even matter? |

Hmmm... i must have missed your previous post somehow, sorry about not responding.
The neck guard: they are called "ko-hire" (small wings), and yes, this is kosher. The ko-hire of Okegawa-do are typically made of "kikko" (hexagonal plates-brigandine), so the part that covers the shouders should look rounded instead of square, you can see an example here: LINK Scroll down untill you can see a detailed picture of the ko-hire, note the part that stands up like a colar, that's how your ko-hire should look like. I hope that was helpfull, sometimes it's a bit difficult to explain something. The lames: the lames of the do may be slightly bigger, but you can't see there entire size because they overlap. Very often, the lames of the do and the skirt plates are the same in size, so don't worry too much about this, just take a good look at some okegawa-do pictures. EDIT: About your problem with your import script, PM Corthian about it, maybe he knows what the problem is.

I got the import problem solved on BSF. Thanks! Will continue to work with those tips.

BSF is the best place to solve your problems, there are a lot more people there who can help you.
Just one more thing about the shoulder plates and shoulder straps: make sure you got some space for the shoulder straps, your model does not have any free space left for them because your shoulder plates almost overlap with the breastplate. The shoulder plates should cover the very top of the shoulders, but not extend down to the breastplate (i hope that makes sense to you). Take a look at the picture below, you can clearly see the shoulder straps, note that some armors have the straps covered with small plates plates, the better suits of armor may have those plates, but is your okegawa-do of that quality? EDIT: i should mention that some armors have very little space between the shoulder plates and the breastplate (like you modelled your armor) but it is a bit rare, especially for the cheap okegawa-do. You can see an example here: LINK So the choice is yours, i just want you to know about what your choices are about this type of armor.

Got it. This is the kind of feedback I need. I'll for sure have the skirt finished this weekend. The shoulders and sode are going to need more work, but with luck I'll have WiP pictures of the shoulders posted. Once the Skirt and Sode are done I can finally worry about texturing and getting my stuff in game, which I'm looking forward too. So maybe by next weekend I'll be able to start the more difficult stuff. :goodjob:

Eeeew! I really hate that battery indicator on the taskbar!!!
Oh, wait, that's not part of the model.... I don't really like the way the leatherguard was made. The part that curves toward the camera there just doesn't look right, to me, it looks more natural if it wasn't as curved. I like forts! You don't like forts? Screw you. Beremat, the leatherguard will be worked on, so don't worry if you don't like how it looks now
I wonder how the sode will turn out, maybe they will have some deformation problems like the kusazuri skirt plates hrug: InS4n3, what will you work on after the okegawa-do? Will you model the helmet next? If you do model the helmet next, i suggest you model a "zu-nari kabuto", it's simple and fits the okegawa do very well. And do you still want to model more types of armor/helmets?

Haha, I don't know. I'll play it by ear because I still have ALOT of work to do on the Okegawa do. When everything is said and done with this armour set we'll see what you guys need.
The battery indicator means I'm working on a laptop computer. |

We will need the no-dachi before any other type of armor, the helmet is very important too.

After the Cuirass is finished I'll start work on the No-dachi then :check:
