The Telvani ship needs to have a lot of Telvanni crystal things in it as well. The sides of the ship should be an almost bark-like really tough fungal shell that is water resistant. The ship should only have emergency sails, because it already is magically propelled. Even having a bit of Dwemer objects isn't unheard of with the Telvanni, so there is a possible Dwemer engine moving it too. The inside should be very rich looking, lots of furniture, and should resemble a moving house. Making the ship look a bit spherical would be cool too.
Lol what?

Scale for these boats
Any idea what the sizes of these boats should be in either English or metric units?
Thanks, Steve |

another ship.... the Dres Carrier...
As you can see, chitinous... thus lighter than it seems. You can see I was influenced by Chinese 'junks'. This Dres ship is used to transport soldiers, for the transport of wares and goods, for slaves, for supplies, ANYTHING... so its a carrier. This is a relatively large and hard-to-make ship. You need to find and mutate/grow a large undersea crustacean, probably something you'd leave for the Telvanni to do for you. The legs are lashed to make the mast, and sturdy iridescent insect wings used for the sails... these must be acquired from Telvanni bug herders and farmers as well. One of the longer flipper-legs must be fashioned into a rudder, the rest recycled in a bunch of ways. The prices are high but the ship, because of its chitinous material is incredibly durable, very sea-worthy and unfortunately has a funny smell. It is not necessarily a warship, but good for carrying troops for war. The two interiors carved from the belly of the beast have sections below deck as well.... has a slight shrimpy smell down there. The only banes of this ship are barnacles (a few centuries of accumulation and weigh it down), hurricanes from the Padomaic sea... and slave-mutiny... |

another... a Telvanni Wizard's Vessel...
Telvanni aren't big into sailing, but when they do, its either with outlander craft or very uniquely made craft. This is a wizard's ship, for traveling up and down coasts, relatively light and maneuverable, and there is a separate quarter for the wizard. The rowers live down in the hold and row on the deck. No rudder nor sails. There is a giant water-bug that is manipulated very much the same way a silt strider is to further propell and direct the movement of the ship. A dias on the prow serves as a place for the wizard to watch or fire spells. The crystal at the end is where the fungal ship was grown from and also can be a reservior of magicka for the Telvanni wizard So again, its a smooth cruising vessel for the coastal areas around the Telvanni territory... good for traveling and possibly raiding if the Telvanni wizard is feeling particularly nasty towards his Telvanni neighbors... though if he has a boat like this, he's probably already a powerful and very well established mage-lord [/hr] And a Telvanni Transport... This is for transporting cargo and used to transport slaves (still does sometimes ). Transports all sorts of stuff and people, from hirelings and wizards, to live animals, to crops and chitin, etc. The large holding in the back as well as below deck are used to hold things. Sea-Bloat fungus is grown on the sides to keep the boat very buoyant. While this allows for more cargo to be carried, it also makes the boat less sleek, but as this ship tends to go along the coasts, it's not so bad. There's a watch tower on top as well as the captain's quarters which will probably also house more important passengers. The crew (formerly all slaves) row the ship. It is runs on rowing, and has a large rudder... yup, thats it |

Dres Warship...
This baby's bigger than both the Scuttler and Carrier... but less roomy than the carrier and roomier than the scuttler. It has rowers and sails for maneuvering, and while not exactly fast, it most pretty well. Six flaps on each side have archer-holes and can open up for boarding (when ships are next to each other or assaulting a beach). There are also seven pods on the top, made in a similar manner that silt strider compartments are. One is fo rthe double sail and another for the rudder, leaving five for archers, magicians, grapplers, sentries, officers, whatever. As you can see, it's something of an upside-down shrimp, and it'll probably have that smell. |

I'd love to see the day they put smells into games!
Nice work, really. These're all seaworthy vessels with a lot of uniqueness. They fit their houses well, and i hope whoever makes them does as nice a job on the models as you did on the concept art Leader of the Morag Tong Hail Mephala
I do work sometimes - I swear!

Mucho gracias senor, esta una lastima que los modeleros (tres-dimensiones) no quere claimar mis obras
w-what? Yeah, basically I hope some talented modelers take up my concepts.. or it will all be a waste of time really... I mean it, if i draw a lot, write a lot, plan a lot - and nothing happens except a bit of praise, that means I failed to truly inspire a modeler/modder and I also that I have wasted nearly 2 years worth of free time planning, writing, and drawing for mods that will never come to reality... so DON'T let that happen! lurking modelers out there (I know you're there!), give these a try!!! :goodjob: |
