Textureing help.
Hello!
Ammon here, and I was just wandering if anyone could give me any advice about the subject of texturing? Or just how to get started, and which programs would be needed to work on them...

RE: Textureing help.
Most modders use a program like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. Both of these are good, the differences being mostly in the layout. If you don't have the money to shell out for one of them you can use Gimp, a free program with most of the features of Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.
You will need a .dds converter for whichever program you wind up using. Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro can use the same .dds plugin, there is a different one for Gimp. A couple of other handy but not completely necessary tools are a DDS Viewer and a TGA Viewer which will let you view .dds and .tga thumbnails in your Windows directories. Then you will need some tutorials. There's a few thousand or so on the internet...I'll leave it up to you to find them. And last but not least, you need time. My apologies, but I can't help you much there. Good luck!
Chaos, panic, disorder...my work here is done.
