Ok I guess I'll start doing something.
I was thinking about main theme and I have several thoughts. We can achieve main theme for Akavir in three ways:
1. We could use Void's main theme as Akavir theme (although I would not recommend it because it's Void theme afterall and the production and orchestration was not as satisfying as I would like - it was the time that I was starting to learn the orchestration, well I still learn Wink

),
2. I could make an asianesque remake of the TES theme (Morrowind and Oblivion themes use the same melody, although in different "moods"), so it IMHO would make you somewhat remember that we still are in the TES universe. The tune would be similiar in some way to the Morrowind, Guild Wars Factions and Jade Empire themes (at least I have this idea in my mind).
3. Unique melody, that would stand as main theme in the mood similiar to those three games' themes that I wrote above.

Which way would you like the most?

Btw. - I had setup the Void account some time ago at moddb. Do you have one there?

We will need a lot of music for Akavir, i really like your music (i downloaded it yesterday), Kielanai likes it too, would it be possible to use it for her Kojima village? (Kojima will be part of our mod).

As for the main theme for Akavir, i think i like option 2 the best :check:

I put the music in to listen while creating, but I was going to remove it before final release since I didn't think it was an open resource. But I really do like your work. I am fine with whatever you decide. Smile

You can of course use the tune, but I'd like the music to be released with the official release or something (will there be some kind of interactive trailer?). Smile

Well that was the intention, so people will still feel like they are playing a TES game.

The music for Kojima could be released with the official release if that's what you want mirrored.
However, people can already download it now because you did not PM the link to the music, so it might as well be released when Kielanai releases the next version of Kojima (that way your music will get in-game even if the Akavir mod would not survive).
We will need different Asian music styles for the towns of Tang Mo and Ka Po tun, we will need something that sounds like traditional music from India, Indonesia, Japan and China.

I wanted people to have a listen to the music (as modellers posts their images). Hmm maybe I'll just try to upload somewhere else, so people will only listen, not download? Well I don't mind people having download and have a listen to my music (since mostly people from Silgrad forums have a listen I guess), but if you like I can make it other way.

That will be a challenge - never did any traditional music, but I'll do my best. I have a collection of CDs with music from China, Japan, Turkey, Tibet and Nepal. Cool

So the music will not be in sections as is in the vanilla Oblivion? Will the music be for certain areas? How do you trigger it?

1: I don't mind if people can get your music, it's about what you want. If you don't want them to "steal" your music by downloading it before our mod is released, you should just PM us a link or make sure people can only listen to it.

2: The music itself does not have to be traditional, it should just include some traditional instruments of those countries, so players can hear when they are in the "Chinese" or "Indonesian" part of Akavir Smile

3: If possible, the music will be for certain areas, i think this can be done with scripts.
But even if that's not possible, we will still need some music that does not sound Japanese or Chinese, we will need something that sounds like it's from India and Indonesia.
And i think we will have music in sections, just with some scripted music aswell if possible.
