Modder working on Morrowind Armor conversion

Just in case you guys haven't seen this, I haven't checked the main forum to see if silgrad is discussing this, I try to stay here. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Common-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This might just be what we need for all of our projects. I find it hard to believe that the Dunmer abroad (and I've found quite a few of them in Oblivion) would leave their trusted bonemold or chitin armour back home.
Thanks a lot for the link and I will keep a close eye on the development. Greetings Quentin
That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs, but what a ship is - what the Black Pearl really is - is freedom.

personaly, i dont think these are all that great. mostly because they dont look much like the armor intended... due to retexturing
however, im very aware that there is no working exporter as of now. therefore... mods are stuck with retextures. i gues that these are the best the comunity has for now... i jsut wanted to expres my opinion on them. Mongati HoonDing tiavo; li-mansao einei diang. Cassandra for the memospore era |

Not that I know how to do it but supposedly full model replacement is possible, as long as the original model is similar in shape (for havoc) as the new one. Many custom swords and armor have been created in game already, although it's all still kind of testing.
I'd consider this a wip, and worth keeping an eye on in case his completed collection is worth using. I agree though that at this stage they're not up to par. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Common-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with LN on this.... they don't look GREAT, but as retextures... I can live with it...
rather have actualy new models of armor though.... but I understand the situation... |

Should we try getting in touch with the guy? Seems like even if its just a WIP its worth seeing if he wants to work with use or at least share resources. Sure its not perfect, but the Nordic Mail and the Adamantium were actually pretty good I thought. If we could get someone to alter a few meshes we can import them with Nifskope, heck slap a few spikes on the orcish cuirass and tweak the proportions a little bit and you have decent hlaalu bonemold, sure havoc might not be perfect, but how many people are going to care as long as the armor rattles and bounces? We can then see if the guy will texture the new meshes for us. I really don't see what we have to lose by taking a shot at this and asking the guy.

Quote:Should we try getting in touch with the guy?you have no choice it seems I know the armors aren't some ?ber godlike things, but since i only have the oblivion meshes to work with I cant do any better. If some good modeler could help the armors would be much better. |

Dang, I had no idea the armor scaling problem made it impossible to do the mesh replacement. Someday perhaps we will have the liberty to actually work with the friggan game. Feh.
Anywhoo, I linked this because it's good news that people are trying to add this content. In case we get ahead in the mod in terms of quests, dungeons, and landscapes, and don't have enough manhours to remodel all the morrowind armors, we could tap into another mod to get versions out to the people faster with lots of added content, and we can work on asthetic stuff like meshes later. Assuming havoc gives up the goods. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Common-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wait, Nifskope works for altered meshes right? The havoc and collision on them just get wacky if the mesh is to heavily altered?
