Modelling Problems..
Hello all,
My 3DS max has a error problem and is stopping my work, So i might take awhile to get something recovered/or i will learn how to use blender's rigging but so far it is not my cup of coffee. I have completed some models but because i use 3DS max to rig, I cannot complete anything at this point in time but i have got things underway like new clothing and armours that im working on for blackmarsh, Im going to try and work on the leviathan but i will not post any pictures intill i get a workable mesh, Other than that i need to fix my old email address and get sending. On the good news front i can take a new scanner/printer home soon so thats good, Just thought i would like to tell people because of my great lack of progress and i should say sorry for that but i promise i will get intact soon and become a workable modder with progress pics :goodjob: , And i should be working side by side with ibsen on interior claims when i get my modelling jobs over. Anyway use this thread for any other concerns related to life causes that is making your computer/programs slow down so people may help out in that direction (If its a bug or something you did wrong on the program/computer).

Post a screenshot of the error, along with your pc specs, then we might be able to help you. Also try the technical talk section of Polycount
http://boards.polycount.net/forumdisplay...047ce&f=43 They are collectively and individually wise. |

Modelling Problems..
Thanks ShadowGame i found out the problem it had something to do with a corrupt directory in my version of 3DS max
(Because currently i have free version but they suggested on the tech support that i should of current buy 3DS max and it should fix it, Ive tryed the backup and it seems not to load and lastly i have enough space for 3ds max so that is not the problem and my specs are good enough for it).

Yeah, first follow through with what sHAdowgAme said.
Also, have you checked out the various info on this site?: http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/3ds_Max If it's a Max Niftools Plugin exporter/importer error, you can go here and post an error report under the "3DS Max Plugin Help & Bug Reports" section (like if nifs and kf's import and export wrong, after you've already followed any fix-it directions elsewhere): http://niftools.sourceforge.net/forum/ Lastly, what version of Max do you have? The Niftools plugin only works with these versions: 3D Studio Max 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 2008, 2009 gmax 1.2 Be sure you're using the latest Max Niftools Plugin: v 3.4.2.4632 Koniption EDIT: You seemed to have figured out your problem already.
Yeah, don't let those little turds get you down. Dingleberries stick for a while, but eventually they fall off.

Modelling Problems..
Yeah just noticed i need to install the latest niftools plugin as well,
Just thought i would post here to see if anyone else was getting the same problem, 3DS max 9 does not work terribly good i liked 3DS max 8 it was quite buggy here and there but at least it does not make my security center buzz off every time i try to use it (9 does this X( ). Check out my "Future Plans" thread, I would like to know some things if you are willing to answer and i have put a funny point of view on these forums so Laugh Out Loud .

Blender has one of the starngest UIs out there, but it is by far the most stable 3d modeling/animation program I have used. And it don't cost a penny.
It also has it's own basic game engine, which i have never used. Once you get used to navigating through everything, it rocks. If you want a modeling program that is very easy to pick up (I don't know what your experience is) I would also go with silo, for all your subdivision and vertex modeling needs. It even shows basic diffuse textures in real time. I think it is like 200 bucks, but they also have a 30 day trial. |
