Hoss, out of curiosity how big will your tower be ingame? And are there any descriptions on how big the tower is in lore?

Siegfried: Well right now I have it a little taller than the towers of the Oblivion Cathedrals.
Razor: I think I have figured out how to use normal maps in my textures. I use the Civ4 Shader:instead of Blinn shader: (I place my normal maps in the bump map slot) for my textures in Max and then I do the assigning in Nifskope(texture path and Collision data)[I am not sure but I believe it works for gloss maps too;put the map in the gloss slot] The textures appear a little darker in max but with the ingame lighting they appear okay. This is just preliminary I tested it on a weapon I made. It appeared to work. I am going to test it somemore. |

Hoss: Really? That's very interesting! Did you get NifSkope to open a NIF exported with the Civ4 exporter? I tried that a few times but I didn't get it to work; NifSkope wouldn't recognize the NIF. Perhaps they released a newer version than the one I used? Or perhaps it was because I baked in the textures, but I have a hazy memory of trying on both baked and un-baked NIFs. Did you model a collision mesh and bring it in using NifSkope? Or how did you do that? =)

I don't bake the textures(nifskope won't load a baked mesh). I used the same method as in the custom weapons tutorial in the Construction set wiki.
As far a collision goes I used the method in i the tut. I works fine for weapons but I have yet to figure it out for statics like buildings. I can walk through them in game. it is really strange. Collision model? How do I do that? If I knew how I would try it to see. |

is this being worked on or completed?
I know its no longer THE Silgrad Tower.... but a giant Velothi tower would be perfect in Thorn, Black Marsh... a city made by Velothi way way back couldn't find a logical spot for it in Vvardenfell.. there just isn't that sort of building, Ghostgate and Vivec City are the big Velothi things on Vvardenfell.. |
