Stormhold is Black Marsh's Jungle City lying in the Northern reaches of the Naga-Cradle Jungle. It is an entrypoint to the mountains and a common location for the more enterprising traveller. Much of it is built upon the existing Barsaebic ruins which are still very much in evidence, both in the ramshackle architectural design and through the complex Undercity network.

It was the scene of the most spiritual successes in terms of trying to 'tame' Argonian culture and belief as it was at one time under the influence of missionaries of the Nine Divines. This is the second strongest influence that is at work in city, giving rise to the Cathedral whose brazier serves as a beacon to those lost in the Jungle.

It is a source of considerable trade and yet has a history of foul diseases. Consequently, places such as the 'Hospice of Mara' have been set up to deal with this. However, it is not without influence and holds considerable sway in the diplomacy between Argonia and the foreign embassies, the most controversial of which remains to this day: the Morrowind Embassy, a base for the once-despised Dunmer who were at one time a blight on Stormhold's horizon. Being a border city, it is also rich in trade, culture and commerce.

This interior claim is very small as it simply contains the Guard Tower over the Gatehouse. One Guard might require bedding here and there will be a need to decorate with Stormhold's own banners and associated paraphernalia.

How to mod your interior

NB: Please note that some Stormhold interiors contain copies of vanilla interiors for those wishing to 'mass-mod' (see the thread in the interiors section for details). This is not a highly recommended strategy to modding but, in practical terms and if needing to create Imperial-style interiors (as some in Stormhold are), it can prove to be very useful and time-efficient. If not using this strategy, please delete either some or all of the existing clutter and then begin.

Interior modding carries with it the same responsibilities as it does on our father project, Silgrad Tower. This means that there will need to be NPCs, Containers, Lighting etc. For a really nice checklist that is very, very thorough, try this one from Zurke: A handy checklist to create an interior for ST . Zurke is the most experienced and prolific interior modder I know of so it's all good advice.

Cluttering your Interior

Please try to use the BM objects as much as possible. And try to consider the story behind the owner of the building (which you may adapt unless stated) and add clutter as appropriate to them and the particular locations. This might include foodstuffs, flora, cutlery, paintings, tribal items, custom furniture, bedding and maybe a desk if this interior involves using the NPC as a trader.

Please remember to light the area. Argonian or Imperial lighting can be used. If you have any further suggestions, requests for models and so on then please consult this thread: Furnitures & Clutters . Just ask if you have any special ideas for extra models.

I've made a lot of progress.

The Stormhold exterior now has a working pathgrid,
I've fixed the bug in 2BMDZStormholdBravil01 concerning the misaligned North Marker is fixed (JK will take care of the problem in 2BMDZStormholdBlacksmiths since it is his current claim),
And lastly, I've cluttered the interior of both towers to my satisfaction.

I just need to create the guards then give them their AI and I can submit for review.

Cool! Stormhold is making superb progress now. Besides various other areas I've been dealing with lately, I also managed to sort out the problem with the error marker on Periptero's desk. It was such a small issue but it was bugging me. Hopefully, I can get a lot of irritations out of the way by the next esm...besides the armour I just added.

IG, I was planning on having an evaluation ready for you to look at today (sort of like a Christmas present) but there is still some work I have to do before I can call it finished. Oh well, you know what they say about the best laid-out plans. I'll probably have it finished either tomorrow or the day after.

Thank you for the Christmas wishes. I did have a good time (my family went to a relative's house for a party). How was your Christmas?

As promised, I have finished the two towers. It may now be reviewed at your leisure. This project took a long time but also had a lot of work done to it. I am particularly pleased with the patrol AI I gave to the gate guards.

If there is anything that needs changes in the plugin, do not hesitate to mention it. I would like to say that I keep getting the feeling that the east tower is missing something but I can't figure out what it is. Anyway, please find my work attached to this post.

Hi XJ,

My Christmas started off a bit crappy but became much better once I settled in. Boxing Day has been pretty good so far. Normally I would review this right now but I'm still under the influence (*hiccup*). However, I noticed that the disease guide book was coming up as an error for me and thought this might be because I'm still lacking the mesh for some reason. I'll look into this. Anyway, please choose an alternative book as the guards are likely to choose a different source of reading material anyway.

I noticed that there seemed to be quite a lot of guards though. A spawn point would be better, I think. Nevertheless, I'm still in the process of getting the armours ready for the Factions so we'll alter the armours of the NPCs later so that they match the Dragonscale armour of the generic BM guards. In fact, we may have a few actual Legionnaires in there since Stormhold still has some Imperial influence. Nice work on the patrol routes though. I'll wait till JK gives his opinion as well but those are the recommendations I would make.

Very good work! I have yet to test it in-game (I'll do it tomorrow) to see how all your AI and scripting actually works, but it looks alright.

I agree with IG that there a lot of guards, but I assume that in-game, that won't be a problem because they'll all be doing things so there will be few guards in the tower at any one time. I think that whether the guards use Dragonscale or Imperial armour depends on the culture of Stormhold. I would have thought that Stormhold is mainly an Imperial town, so I would use the Imperial armour. I would say the same for Gideon but the rest of the main towns/cities would be more Argonian influenced so Dragonscale would be better suited for them (except for Thorn, which I would think would be mainly Dunmer influence).

- It's better if you place NPCs on PG points

- There is no ownership at all. This includes doors, beds even the cell itself. Adding ownership is a must. I'm not sure if a guard faction for Stormhold has been set up yet (I don't think so but IG or Deeza should know) but you need to set the ownership of these things to the faction and add the NPCs to it.

- There is no door locking/unlocking but I assume this is intentional because it's a guard tower which isn't exactly a public place.

- In 2BMDZStormholdTower02 (which I believe is the east tower) the lighting in the middle floor is quite bright. You might want to reduce the lighting there (I personally prefer to use fake lighting and the ambience bulbs, as they let you get better lighting effects and aren't restricted by location)
