Need help with making a quest.
Hi everyone,
OK I need some help making a misc quest for my interior (It all acctually takes place inside so there is no need for an exterior). But I don't know how to do that. I tried the CS Wiki but found nothing that helped me there. I don't need the quest made for me I just want to know how to make it and how to script the various things. Teach a man to fish right? Ok here is the outline. Just wandering by exploring. Decide to go into The Guard Captains Home. Look around, find some strange notes. read them, and you find out the Captain has quite a bad memory in his old age, and there appear to be goblins in his basement. You talk to him about it, he doesnt remember a thing. Show him the note, he asks you to kill them for him. Nothing special just a little distraction for the player. Now I need help with the dialouge and making so the when the player reads the note he gets a new topic to ask the Captain and the quest quest stages. So can anyone help me with this please? -FLESH

It starts by defining a quest.
Then define the quest stages. For example. Reading the note = Stage 10 Talking to the captain, kill the goblins = Stage 20 Killing the Goblins = Stage 100 (end quest). The captain dies = Stage 200 (end quest, it's not possible to complete te quest) The stages are set via the dialogue and the note. Study the SQ01 (the Potato Snatcher) in the CS including the dialogue and the scripts. Try to implement your quest in the Rpc33. I'll guide you through the process.

Ty sandor. Now I'm having trouble adding the goblins to the targets because their reference isn't there for some reason?
Could you help me out with that please.

Thanks, that was it.
EDIT: Ok how do I make it that there is an option to ShowNote and after the note is shown make him say what I want to. Which conditionfunction do i need for these things?

OK, the Captain says. Goblins? What Goblins? preposteros. Then I want the option for the play to show him the note. Then he remembers. Oh and then he asks are you up to it. How do I put in a choice like Yes or No?

Make an info with the text you desire. Let's assume the topics name is Goblins.
Make sure you check for the note (if the PC has it), condition run on target. Via GetItemCount before you display this topic (Goblins). Make a new topic NoteYes and NoteNo. Add the info's to the new topics. Add both the topics to the Goblins topic in the sub listing choices. Look at the screenshot (it's from a Blacklight interior, I did). There you can see the choices BedYes and BedNo.

Well the quest was a complete failure. I didn't even get a journal entry when I killed the goblins. Which I added to the quest target list.
To answer your question, yes. But probably no.
