[OBLIVION/MODDING] WryeBash and what it can do
The WryeBash utility has a couple of very interesting capabilities which I'd like to mention.
The first is that it can convert .esp files to .esm files. I believe this could be the key to getting past the isolationist problem for Reich Parkeep. As some of you know we had a spot of trouble earlier because you couldn't play with the Reich Parkeep esp and a plugin made to work with the Reich Parkeep esp at the same time. That was before programs like the TES4 Plugin Utility was released, but even now it would be nice to be able to play both the main RP file and a plugin meant to work with it because the more parts of town gets finished, the more venues modders have to set up AI stuff for their new NPCs, and being able to test that out would be very handy. So, from now on, I'll use WryeBash to convert my working version .esp's to .esm's before releasing them. The other is that it can extract faces from .ess (savegames) and save these as plugins! This makes me really happy because I spent hours setting up the face of my first character, who's now retired, and corny as it may be it feels great to be able to see him live on in modded form. I trust I'm not the only one who'll want to do that It can do more tasks than that btw, but I didn't personally need to use them, though I'm sure others will find them useful. To get WryeBash up and running you need two additional programs: Python 2.4.3 and wxPython. Install them, then download WryeBash; extract the "Mopy" folder to your Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion and double-click on the bash.py file, which should open with the Python program. (Wrye explains in more detail on his site)

Interesting, the part about character faces is awesome. Your comment about retired characters living on gives me an idea. Wouldn't it be cool if our project leaders were in the mod as easter eggs? I think people would get a kick about seeing you and Quentin in modded form :lmao:. Hide away the project leaders in remote locations, and have them drop hints about where to find special items, help the player out on quests. If the Vvardenfell team did the project leader easter egg they wouldn't have to hide Kukulza, just let him wander around a big city and change avatars every 12 hours

Hehe. Mm... I'd be "Ra'Zhorra the Truthteller" in that case, and heckle Bethesda worse than M'aiq could ever heckle us.

Why offer gold to the Gods, when us mortals have the power to change this world for the better ourselves? Why do Gods meddle in our affairs? Ra'Zhorra thinks they are greedy swines!"[/blockquote]

i think something like that should be included |

Given that a endings for word are usually feminie, would you prefer to be known as Ra'zorro?
:lmao: Methinketh KuKulzA would have to be KuKu the clown - travelling showman - that would explain the crazy changes! Mind you, the thought of possibly meeting BunnyMac the Knife in a dark deserted cavern (eerie music and muttering optional) is quite chilling...
