Online gallery
As some of you might remember, I mentioned a while back that I could make a customized gallery page for the Vvardenfell project. I waited to hear back from your webmaster but I never did, so now I went ahead and made it anyway, so you guys can check it out and see if it's something you want for your website.
What you're looking at is a placeholder page made to resemble a page from your website, which has an embedded iframe linked to a customized thumbnail gallery page. If you like the system your webmaster can go ahead and copy that page (thumbnails_vvardenfell_placeholder.htm) to your site's dir, name it as you like, change the links and so forth. The active ingredient is the portion in the .htm that reads [thumbnails_vvardenfell.php?album=46]. As it is right now, it displays Vvardenfell's concept art album. If you change the album number to 45 it displays an album for general images. It's pretty flexible that way. I don't know how many albums you would like or how to name and describe them, but don't hesitate to let me know that and I'll set it up. For instance it can in some cases be a pretty convenient alternative to attaching images to your posts; if you attach them they'll only be seen in the forum thread, but if you upload them to the gallery and (url= ) (img) (/img) (/url) them into your post they'll be seen in the thread, on your website, and to people browsing through the main gallery. Of course that's for you to decide if and how you want to set it up. Right now the concept art album is empty because no-one has uploaded Vvardenfell concept art images to it yet. If you register or log into the system at http://gallery.silgrad.com/ you can upload a concept art picture to that album and it'll be displayed immediately on the album page on your site (after the placeholder .htm has been copied there). Hope you guys like it. I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Awesome. I'll mess around with it some and see what I can do with it. I'll have some more questions later on, I'm sure.
But right now, is it possible to delete images from the gallery. I uploaded one a couple of days ago ( here ) and I put it in the wrong place (this was before there was a Vvardenfell section). So I was wondering if it was possible to delete that image, or do something with it. I couldn't find a way.

Quote:Originally posted by Ixidors Bane It's not possible for normal members to edit or delete images from public folders, only gallery admins can do that. But it's fully possible for all members to create private albums, in which they have full control over deletion and editing. There's some info on how to create private albums -here-. In the meantime could you let me know which filename the picture you'd like to delete has? The link didn't work. I can see that you have 1 picture uploaded in total, but since I'm not 100% sure that's the one you'd like deleted I thought I'd better ask.

I've already made a gallery, but haven't uploaded anything to it yet. That first pic was me just seeing how to do it, and I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it. So yeah, that one that I have uploaded can get deleted, thanks. :goodjob:
The link really doesn't work for you, cause it works just fine for me. The image is under the Home > Miscellanous > Unsorted section, and seems to be the only one there.

Done :check:
I've come to conclusion that the software-generated links doesn't work very well at all, so personally I right-click images and copy the image location so I can reference the image files directly.

I forgot to mention that both the silgrad.com server and the gallery software are, for better or worse, open to hotlinking. So if you take up Rodan on his website offer you could totally hotlink to the custom gallery page on silgrad.com and keep the concept art and other albums that would have been uploaded to.

I was thinking that we really should have all the mock-ups posted. I know that there's one for Balmora and one for the Hlallu Keep. I'd love to have one done for Suran as well (if anybody wants to volunteer...).

I don't think I have authorization to upload (either that or I'm just doing it wrong). Either way, I would please like someone's help in posting the final image of Suran (Title: Suran Revised) into the Pre-Production Gallery. It's located in a link in the thread rather than as an attachment due to its size. Also, there are two graphics of the old Suran in there, and while I like the before and after thing for comparison, I think that one is sufficiant, so could somebody with authority please delete the one with the numbers on it? Thanks.
