People Watching
Yes its something we all find intresting; the smart people, the stupid people, the funny people, the not funny people ect... they're all intresting to an extent right. I'd like to know what kind of people, or what aspect of people you like watching.
For my self (note some of you may not consider this people watching but I do so I'm sharing it) Relationships-all kinds of them I love watching them, as they will fall apart at some point, by death or something some one does they will fall apart. Now my personal favorite to watch is that of power, and most of all, the one between one of my friends and her mother. Since freshman year I've know this friend, and since freshmen year I knew she hated her mother for some reason, just resently I figured out why. They both crave power. It became clear to me after a trip to Europe with the both of them and watching my friend and her boyfriend. Now both of them are quite normal, The mother seams to think she knows her child better than she does (or so it seems to me) She thinks her child to be a very religious person but has trouble understanding her religion, my friend is an athiest, well thats just one example the others are hard to put into words but you get the idea. The mother is quite a nice person, I was able to stirke up converstaion, as I do with many adults, and I still could not see why my friend hated her, untill our journy back home. Our bags had not yet come down from the plane, and we where waiting some time, my friend desides to check another convayer belt as she thinks she sees her bag, but the mother tells her to stay put. I just thought even as a parent this was rude, let her go we're in a group we wont leave with out her. So fast forward about a month and I was talking to my friends about my (the friend we have mentioned the whole time was not there) friend and her bf, and I said they made a cute couple, one of my friends said that that was not true and that she was the only person that could controle him like that, any one else and they would be fighting. Also I've noticed that she was always a person to tell others what to do, so it then became clear to me, the controle was what caused this hate. Now I see much more why certain things she does makes sence. Well thanks for reading my rant. Ghost

Watching people can be kind of weird, for a couple of reasons.
1) It's not a good habit, but i tend to classify most people automatically as idiots. Kind of a guilty until proven innocent thing. Thus, i stay away from most people, and i'm content. Plus, most people are idiots, so it works most of the time. But sometimes, i think to myself, hmm these are actually people aren't they? And they have lives, minds, problems, ect. It destroys the way i look at the world, because i realize that these people cannot be idiots. There is no such thing as an idiot, and that everyone's an idividual, whether talanted in school or not. But i watch these people whine about school, treat the teacher with no respect, cheat off of each other, and my mindset's back. It's a strange trip though. 2) Just thinking about the millions of people out there is mindboggling. All of them have lives, and all of them have intricate relationships with the people around them. Also, in my school i have like 10 friends, out of 600 people. I tend to think that's because there's only 10 unique and interesting people in my grade, but then i realize that there are other grades, and that there ought to be 10 people in the grade above me who are just as interesting and awesome. Which means there should be about 40 awesome people in my school. But i'm only in 1 school. Then i realize that there are millions of awesome people in the world, simply by the laws of probability. Unfortunatly, that makes the friends i have seem disposable, which is a bad thought. If there are millions of people just like them, then isn't anyone significant? It's hard to explain, but it makes me seem very very small, and makes me wonder how many other people there are similar to me, with similar groups of friends. Could i fit into any of those groups? But then what happens to my own? All from watching other people and going off on mind-tangents _________________________________________________________ I find relationships to be a bit shallow at this point. I'm a natural cynic, so i often have to wonder if the two parties really like each other, how long it'll be before they break up, how long it'll be before they're with other people, and why they feel the urge to create traffic jams by making out in the middle of the hallways. then i have to consider the other side to it. Well it's shallow sure, but they're obviously enjoying themselves. Can't see why myself, but even if they've broken up in 4 months, at least they had a good time in the process. So how do i judge other people? I often think that people really just shouldn't go out because it's pointless, but i realize that it only applies to me. Other people have fun, so i really can't tell them that they shouldn't be enjoying themselves. There are also times when two people in the hallways seem like they're in a state of mutual rape... They're both violently hugging each other, practically fighting up and down the hallways shouting. It just makes me laugh. I also find control interesting to watch. Can't think of any really good examples, but one of my friends is very subtly controlling. She's just manipulative sometimes, and it's somewhat interesting to watch, though i'm not really in any of her classes. I don't have anything as interesting as your friend's relationship with her mom. My sister can be really really nasty sometimes, but we just ignore her Leader of the Morag Tong Hail Mephala
I do work sometimes - I swear!

I used to people watch allot when hanging out with my friends as a teenager, never remember getting that critical but were not above a muffled laugh at a choice character. But then again I only remember looking at people idling by in public places and not crazy antics of teenagers at highschool.
