Quest NPC flag usage
One of the things that has bugged me in OB has been the unkillable NPCs; not that they exist, but that they exist in such a quantity. In OB I find it annoying that you can't kill any npc that breaks a quest, even if it is a sidequest totally apart from the main story. Maybe I actually want to kill Ongar the World-Weary, that filthy drunkard!
What's the general direction of the quest npcs in vv, are we going to flag nobody npcs if they're used in side quests or is it going to be more like morrowind, where if you kill guy x you might forfiet quest lines, possibly even the main quest line. (apol if this has been suggested, doesn't ring a bell here and routine search turned up nothin) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Common-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you kill that guy you forfiet the quest, sucks for you, you either got bored or greedy and couldn't control your temper

I'd like to see flagging of main quest line NPCs, flags that are removed after they are no longer needed to progress(this might not be possible).
The possibility of hosing the main quest because you angered one guy and the guards take him out or something is unnecessary, but we should allow the killing of everyone else. If I'm in the fighters guild, mage guild quest NPCs are likely meaninglyess to me, etc etc. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Common-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well flags should definitely be taken out after a quest... and maybe after MQ too...
but you see, some people will join Fightersand Mages and Thieves and Cammona and Telvanni and etc.etc. so before you saw you wouldn't be interested also consider others... however due to the complex animosities in Vvardenfell... Mages Guild hates Telvanni vice versa... Thieves Guild, Fighters and Cammona are in a bad way with one another... etc.etc. |

Agreed, perhaps we could have all independant quests unflagged, and all main quest and factions flagged. When you are asked to join a faction, you can refuse, thus globally unflagging that faction's npcs. Similarly after the MQ they get unflagged.

No, don't mark them as unkillable. That really takes away from roleplaying.

oh is that how it is?
I don't mean unkillable, I mean something that tells you not to kill them.... |

Ah. Well, that's much better.

Yeah, just like Morrowind. It would just say GRRR You severed the ties of fate or something and you had the option to reload if you wanted to to.

Or you could do the backpath... but if you killed Yagrum, Divayth, or any of his daughters, you'd be screwed out of that too.
