Redoran Councilors - discussion
Quote:Originally posted by KuKulzA Therefore we have these guys in:
Since the Fall of Aldruhn, Ralos Venim, son of the late Chief Councilor, rose up as a hero and took the lead. He asked all the Redoran Councilors with holdings to go back to their settlements and help localize the reconstruction process, to lift the Great House out of decline. Thus all those with holdings return to their holds and those without find residences or help Ralos with the rebuilding of Ald-ruhn. So, we need to consider... Arobar rules the North Gash and is relatively sucessful, with Khuul, Ald Velothi, and Gnisis. Now since Ald-ruhn was destroyed, where shall he be? I expect his new location will be in either Khuul, Ald Velothi, or Ramoran rules West Gash, which has no towns... the Redoran stronghold you can acquire later if you join the Redoran will be in the West Gash (Maltir Bal) and be sponsored by Ramoran no doubt since its his lands. However he DOES have the strongholds of Berandas and Andasreth which he will have you help clear out in the Great House quests... as garrisons to protect the Gashlands. Morvayn rules over Maar Gan, which is a semi-prosperous town, considering it is in the Ashlands. She has returned to her town to oversee its growth. Nothing wrong with that, all is good. Sarethi has no holdings. His traditional holding is South Gash, and the only settlement there is Caldera, which the Redoran want, but had been claimed by Imperials and managed by a Hlaalu. Thus he has no place to go except stay to help rebuild Ald-ruhn... and he makes a good cautious and prudent counter for the aggressive and charismatic Venim. Lethri had claimed the Ashlands in the north, but as the Urshilaku are a powerful tribe, that's a wishful thought. He does rule over Shishi which was siezed from a rogue Telvanni wizard. Seeing as how Arobar can be at either one of three towns, Ramoran has to stay somewhere, whether that be one of the Dunmer strongholds or back in Ald-ruhn, or maybe even in Bal Isra if it got expanded, or maybe at some tavern. And Sarethi is most likely, in my opinion to me in Ald-ruhn helping the reconstruction.... So I am interested in hearing all of your ideas for the Councilors, starting with their locations. Later we can get into maybe trades and militaristic things they might do... it'll help us better mod and also concept quests for them if we know their personalities, locations, statuses, and similar things which will help us have a picture of what they should be like and how they would direct their towns... :goodjob: |

Athyn Sarethi should be right beind Lord Valos Venim in militaristic ways such as using his own clan plus venim's and the redoran army to reclaim Caldera as his own Settlement!

Master Lord Miner Arobar
Could see this time as good chance to get to know his subjects and his own land and find him build a nice fort in the middle so he could keep an eye on his land. See him venturing with a retinue of his own guards visiting his towns expanding the north from a small town into urban area. Master Lord Hlaren Ramoran Will want to establish a strong rule of his presence by killing the cultist armies and bandit mercenaries. He will personally spearhead this mission you will see him out there on the field soon he will capture the strongholds and give them to redoran. He also will establish a large farming estate and harbour?

well no, since Ramoran has no settlement in W.Gash, but maybe he'll already taken over ONE of the strongholds (like Andasreth) and took out those bandits... that fort also close to Drulene Falen's guar herd... so it'll be good
so yeah, maybe he'll be actively keeping the land safe... good idea :goodjob: makes sense cause the other is Berendas and it has Daedra, harder to take out then a few bandits I guess... and you feel Arobar should have a holding to watch over all three? but that'll be in the Samsi River basin... ashlander territory... maybe his small fort will be a tradepost to help form peace with the two Gashland tribes? what do you guys think? |

Expand her guar hide with more protection more land to settle. And he could care less about Ashlanders it his land so he can take it.

Quote:Originally posted by EbonyknightI don't think so... the Redoran will need all the allies they can get... remember despite the fact they survived the Fall of Ald-ruhn, and the fact they are rapidly trying to fix things up, they are way behind House Hlaalu in terms of power. The only things they have going for them are courage and possibly home-field advantage... they'll need allies.. also, a Redoran army won't last without economy to help keep it going... meaning they'll need allies to help watch their back, to trade with, to march to war with, and to protect, in order that they can survive... Great House Hlaalu won't just watch Redoran pull itself out of decline, that means bad for Hlaalu so 'taking care' of the Ashlanders is like saying: "we desperately need allies, so we're gonna kill our potential allies" see what I mean? any suggestions? |

I don't know if you've suggested this (seems like you haven't), but then have one of the Redoran Councilors who has no home act as an envoy to the ashlanders. Redoran need allies, Councilor needs something to do, councilor goes to get allies.
Prehaps said councilor could bring a group of Redoran to establish a trade outpost near a friendly ashlander settlement? Nothing large and threatening, but a gesture of goodwill, and a means to control trade. The Ashlanders hate the Hlaalu more than the redoran right? There's that one tribe on the northeast coast you had to talk to for the mages guild quest (had to get wisewoman for the khajit in Sadrith Mora) I'm not sure what the tribe did after that, but they weren't very hostile, and seemed to be down on their luck. They'd probably welcome trade and mutual protection. [Edit] Right, it was an argonian. As i said, didn't play it much, but yeah, that's the quest, and you had to find the wisewoman's apprentice Leader of the Morag Tong Hail Mephala
I do work sometimes - I swear!

so like a councilor who serves as an ambassador?
Ashlander have grudge against Redoran for being badass warriors - its mutual, they slightly fear the Telvanni for being known for their powerful, ancient xenophobic and cruel wizards... and they are disgusted oftentimes with the Hlaalu's cowardly settled and mercantile ways, enforced with smooth words and quiet knives at night... but they probably see more kinship with the sometimes xenophobic Telvanni and the warrior Redoran than the decadent Hlaalu... and the Telvanni and Redoran helped to protect the people against the Oblivion invasion... what did the Hlaalu do? they on;y defended themselves of course... and it was an argonian who had you talk to a wise-woman, Ahemmusa was most likely to do it. Skink-in-Trees-shade? it's a good idea... :goodjob: not sure who it should be.... I mean Athyn Sarethi is the most open and diplomatic of the Councilors... Venim is aggressive and charismatic, not good for negotiation though he's better than his dad Arobar dislikes Telvanni especially Master Neloth for kidnapping his daughter to blackmail him Ramoran has a temper and dislikes outlanders a lot more than most Redoran nowadays Llethri really dislikes Hlaalu and was responsible for uncovering Hlaalu corruption and insitgating an unsuccessful slave revolt... |
