Well yes it may not be an original idea, but theirs lots of quests that are the same as others, just different places and people involved

Do you want the quest to be something on the inside or from the outside coming in?

Ie. Hidden Secret or Burglar (just examples)

Well, thats really what needs to be decided I think.

The original idea is that you buy a house, but on your way to it, you hear rumour of all types of noise coming from inside

So my first concern is, when does this happen

after you have bought the house, moved in, left for adventure and returned

or

when you've first purchased it and are first going in to see it

Once we decide that we can then decide what it is thats in the house

I think 'after you have bought the house, moved in, left for adventure and returned' for greater effect. Well atleast if burglary is what happens.. or maybe just a poor beggar moving into you house?

The player buys the house, moves in and goes off adventuring
When the player returns (after X number of times) the rumor begins

Player hears NPC's talking about the house:

NPC1: "Someone has bought that house, I wonder what he/she is doing
in their, its very noisy"

NPC2: " I do not know, I don't recall ever seeing the owner"

This would cause the PC journal to update prompting the player to approach the NPC's

Player: What house are you talking about
NPC1: The house over (XXXXX)
Player: That is my house
NPC2: Really, so what is it you do
Player: (whatever the player does)
NPC1: You make alot of noise, for being a (XXXX)
Player: When did you start hearing these noises
NPC2: Well it was just the other day I noticed alot of banging, but I
saw no one enter or leave

Here the update will prompt the player to investigate

Player: Well thank you, but I must be going.

Player goes to home and finds ????

Your idea that it is a begger got me to thinking

What about this: Their is an npc in the home, when the player enters he/she finds them their comphy as can be

The NPC: What are you doing in my house get out before I call the authorities
Player: This is my house I would suggest you leave now
NPC: This is not your house I bought this house yesterday here is my deed.

NPC shows deed and players journal is updated

"This deed appears to be in order, maybe I should speak with (the person whom the house was bought from)

Player: I also have a deed to this home, I will return once I find out what is going on.

Player leaves to go speak with (XXXX) person whom the house was bought from.


Anyways, just a suggestion...if we go with this it would eventually lead to finding the guy or gal who sold the fake deed and bring them to justice

A guy moving in won't make much noise.. so change the rumor to that the house changes owner all the time or something else?

Agreed we have enough here to open a single quest idea for this
particular rumor
